I see the excuses and win/win arguments are being pulled out of the bag already and it's not even over yet. Same old City. Giving up before it's over.

I'm also pleased that us maybe forking out another 7m makes you happy. Personally I'd rather my team had been strengthened but that's the way of the ABU world.

By the way, that thread is a fucking joke. Some tossers emailed Sky this afternoon saying that Fergie should be sacked.

We've waited all summer and had fuck all transfer news of note, then on the last day the whole market goes crackers and you get a transfer situation like this.

One point of consideration though, this consortium have 2 weeks to perform due dilligence and look over the books. In the mean time, with the club being in limbo, can they actually buy anyone?

The club can do what they like mate. They aren't "in limbo". They just have to provide the prospective buyers with certain info to enable the deal to go through.

The key bit for me is this (from the BBC website)

So, basically, it looks like the current owner has floated the Berbatov idea with the prospective owners and they have said they're happy with the Berbatov bid if they do take over. Frank Sinatra is happy for the bid to go ahead whether they take over or not - so no problems.

Except for the fact that it isn't really going to happen is it?

Well as expected it looks like we'll end up with no one but what a bloody good laff it was today, if it was a PR exercise for the new owners to get the city fans on their side it worked well and if they can follow up the commitment they shown today in the future then they have nothing to fear, who says money can't buy love.
