Re: The Official Manchester City thread 2007/08
A few observations.
a) I'm glad Man City have all that cash. It will shake the top 4 up a bit. As a supporter of a team that will probably never win anything again I like to see some change at the top.
b) Why does anyone bother to argue with AFU? He's an obesessed Liverpool fan that will never concede an inch in any argument against his team being challenged. Hence on this subject he's a cunt and always will be. When talking about Liverpool AFU is a child and should grow up.
c) And finally my take on Wayne. Didn't he rip up his Manchester United season ticket when the Glazers took over? Didn't he swear allegiance to Manchester FC? Doesn't he still have the strapline under his name 'fuck off Glazer ya member'? Surely you don't care about Manchester United anymore Wayne? Or are you just talking complete shit as always about your blinkered view of football? Unlike AFU, Wayne is just a child irrespective of the subject.

Re: The Official Manchester City thread 2007/08
Nah - It winds me up a bit Winrew and I'm honest enough to admit it.
Liverpool and Manchester Untied supporters in particular hate any new challenges to their position and conveniently forget their history of buying titles and poaching players. I'm not even going to over reach and give examples as it just isn't worth it - save one rebuttal to Wayne (who else?) He talks about Beckham and his peer group being Manchester youth team players - yes mate - poached from all over the UK by the Man Utd name, history and money - not because they were Manchester born and bred. Surely if you're going to make a defense at least make it sensible.
Man City for the title I say.
And fucking good luck to them.

Re: The Official Manchester City thread 2007/08
Mmm , bit of a bummer for City
Chelsea were class , City looked the part at times , but the difference in the two teams was rather a wide gap..
Nice goal by Robinho ( albeit a deflection )
5/10 , must try harder...

Just spotted this.
Can't be arsed answering any of your points Gettin although the fact that you label myself and afu as child-like with our points of view is rather hypocritical based on your post above. I assume because Komp is on a sabbatical, you need to throw your ego and weight somewhere else. Were you having a bad day where someone dared not to kiss your arse?
Anyway, despite you tempting me to dip my toe into the water on this occasion (which I assume was your intention), no more from me on this as I learnt a long time ago not to bother discussing anything with you. You are the perfect definition of an ABU Gettin and therefore reasoned argument about Utd is a pointless waste of time. I apologise for daring to have an opinion different to yours - my opinion therefore must obviously be wrong.
I look forward to reading your critical reply......and then ignoring it. .GIF)

Not a bit mate , we had 3 debutants (home) and were beaten by a really good Chelski, no shame , we created lots of chances , futures bright

Re: The Official Manchester City thread 2007/08
Best I have ever seen them play in my life.
We have more flair and skill in our team than anyone else.
Jo, SWP, Elano, Robinho, Petrov, Ireland
Such creativity, goals and skill there.
We have a better team than Liverpool 10000% imo

Re: The Official Manchester City thread 2007/08
Aye cracking result and team display, I thought Redknapp trying to put it down solely on his teams poor performance was a bit dis courteous to the way City played but he did look shell shocked at the time.
Liverpool will be a completely different kettle of fish as we do seem to tense up and go the long ball route against the top 4 sides but if they take heart from that win and keep posession and pass like they did on Sunday then were in with a great chance of getting a result.
I'll also give credit where credits due as I've never been a fan of Ireland allthough you used to sing his praises Chris but he has come on leaps and bounds under Hughes and SWP coming back seems to have given him a new lease of life along with Robinho of course who's workrate has totally surprised me as he never stops working and running, something we would never had got from Ronaldihnio had we managed to sign him.
Hopefully Jo should also start coming good now he's got a couple of goals under his belt, you could see the confidence in his control and first touch now he's off the mark and with any luck become a regular 20+ goal scorer for us, something we havent had in years.

Re: The Official Manchester City thread 2007/08
It will be interesting to see who City go for in the January transfer window. With their recently acquired finance, it seems as though the world is their oyster. I just hope they don't think they're going to be getting their hands on Ronaldo!

Re: The Official Manchester City thread 2007/08
I think some people have unrealistic expectations and its unfair to to expect Mark Hughes to finish in the top 4 this season. They have a side that many probably thought would finish in the top 8 or top 6 at best. All of a sudden some rich owners take over (without having time to splash the cash about) and all of a sudden people expect Hughes to work miracles with an average squad.
Top 6 would be an achievement this season...with that squad.
