Re: The Official Manchester City thread 2007/08

Fcuking Brilliant Keema and hopefully still alot more to come yet, that was one of the best displays i've ever seen from a City side in a long long while.

I think the crowd at home to Villa Tom was low because City had near enough 4 or 5 home games on the bounce from that game onwards, Saturdays crowd was a lot bigger and if they carry on playing like that we'll need to add some extra seating.

Early doors yet but if this is a taste of things to come from Sven then the future looks very bright indeed.

Re: The Official Manchester City thread 2007/08

Yeah City impressed me against Newcastle. I have to say so far this season they have disappointed me. Seemed to get a goal and just sit back on it and try defend it for the rest of the match but they were brilliant against Newcastle.

Had to laugh at this from Barton...

Quote:
But Barton told BBC Radio 5live: "I hope they appreciate the job I did at Manchester City last season.

"Were it not for myself, Micah Richards and Richard Dunne they wouldn't have had Thaksin Shinawatra, the Premier League and Sven-Goran Eriksson."

What a complete bell end he really is. He really does think he is a god doesn't he

Told you Hamann was a great player. Shame on those who doubted him.

Re: The Official Manchester City thread 2007/08

Aye , he's having a great season no doubt about that.
Me and chris love watching him draw the fouls , sometimes we can hear his fake yelps as he falls treelike to the ground.

He was awful last season as many were and you can only specualte that he didn;t buy into Pearces philosophy , whatever it was.
If Pool still had him they wouldn;t have been beaten by Reading , he will struggle against the big boys but not much.
He's deffo in the frame for MCFC player of the year already

I'll give him his dues mind as he does get up again allthough looking like he has been duffed up.

He's having a blinding season so far and looks a letter better player than i ever took him for, just a pity he's in the twilight of his career and we won't get many more miles out of him.

Re: The Official Manchester City thread 2007/08

I said it was a mistake letting him go and I stand by it. But it was about playing games and not just about money for him and we couldnt promise regular football.

You can bet we wouldnt have capitulated in Athens if he'd been on the pitch.

Re: The Official Manchester City thread 2007/08

Svenisms them by the way.

Tonight was a majorly important match, lose and we're 7th, win and we're 4th

What a great performance though.

We have such versatile players too, Corluka was fantastic in CM, ready made replacement for Didi, Elano back on form, Petrov is just awesome... everythings great atm

Re: The Official Manchester City thread 2007/08

The best thing about it Chris is that they are all so young and at one time tonight there were 4 players who have come through the academy on the pitch.

Hopefully the majority of these players will stick together for yrs to come, Corluka's been brilliant all season allthough his best position i'd say was when he played at centre half, Midfields fine at the moment so long as he has Hamman mopping up behind him as he did make a few ricks tonight.

Weve also got Svens biggest buy to look forward too in Bosinov who got injured against the rags and the little Mexican Castillo plus anybody else Sven decides to buy in the transfer window.

Exciting times at the moment to be a blue and fingers crossed things can only get better.
