I am always suprised when teams turn down the Intertoto - I think Portsmouth said no last year and it would have guaranteed them a spot in this year's UEFA Cup.

It might be a prudent decision of we carry on the way we are.

Re: The Official Manchester City thread 2007/08

Well no matter what happens now till the end of the season I can walk about Salford with my head held high, great result for all blues fans today and the ones at the ground did us proud with the minutes silence and their support through out the game, was pissing mysides when they were singing 'we can see you sneaking out' with 10 mins to go.

It looks like Elano's absence may have done us a favour as Sven packed the midfield , that added to fergies thought of we were just gonna roll over so he had to play nobody in there brought just desserts for us as nearly every ball from the united back four found a blue shirt and I've never seen Scholes play so deep in my life.

Luckily Fergie only shored it up with 10 mins to go when he brought on Hargreaves and Carrick but even so every city player gave there all today and well done each one of them and it wouldent be fair to single anybody out as it was a team effort.

I do think Benjani will make all the difference to us now mind as we now have somebody who can hold a ball up and capable of finishing in the box something we've not had since Anelka left.

Six points off United this term is magic and as will be tomorrow when i get in work.

Dead right. Sven's tactics were all spot on. Fergie's decision to play Tevez as a lone striker was less than perfect.

Enjoy your gloat tomorrow mate

Oh and far be it from me to pass judgement on the mighty Manchester United - but was a trip to Dubai the other week really such a good idea?

Great result yesterday lads. I got in 5 minutes from the end and asked what the score was, couldnt believe it. Didnt want you to win but fair play.

Big game next against the toffees. You wont see us again this season for dust if we take the 3 points so you better get your scoring boots on

Cheers for that link Keems aint seen that b4.

I gave my thoughts about tonights match in the premiership thread so i won't repeat myself Muze but i will say out of that wee bunch for that fourth spot Everton at present are the best of the lot and if you's can keep playing like you have been doing for the last month or so then I highly fancy you to get it.

Re: The Official Manchester City thread 2007/08

The Fink Tank in the Times gave us a 58% chance of getting 4th spot at the weekend and I think we'll do it. I might even award it its own thread.
