This just sums up what is wrong with most boxing fans. That was Khan's 13th fight - he fought and beat a very decent fighter in Limond (28-1 record going into this fight, and at a decent level albeit at a lower weight at times).
No-one in the world (including Khan) would expect him to beat these Mexicans you talk about at this stage of his career.
Incidentally the 3 Mexican fighters above him in the boxrec Lightweight rankings are Juan Diaz, Jesus Chavez and Hector Velazquez. Their 13th fights of their careers were against opponent with records of 11-16-2, 15-5-1 and a debutant who ended up fighting and losing 3 times.
Recent succesful British fighters 13th fights
Joe Calaghe beat Nick Manners (9-3-1)
Lennox Lewis beat Mike Acey (11-4-1)
Ricky Hatton beat Dillon Carew (10-3-1)
Naseem Hamed beat Antonio Picardi (24-10-0)
Of course he's not going to beat the top fighters in the division yet, that's why he's not fighting them at the moment. Judge him in 2 or 3 years time. Yuo can't expect an amateur, even a top class one, to make the jump to being a top pro in such a short time.
Always going to be question marks over his chin until he takes a decent punch. Didn't see tonights fight, but Limond has never been the heaviest puncher so doesn't look great for Khan.
However, Hatton got knocked down by Eamonn Magee, and since then has never looked back.
