If they can't learn to use both feet naturally at that age then they never will. Sure you can make a career with one good foot (no jokes please - especially about a Ted McMinn comeback) but don't give me any of this world beater shit for fuck's sake.

Exactly, ODM.
I've made sure my lad uses both feet from when he was 4 years old, gives them such an advantage in games but 90% of kids can only use one foot. My lad's right footed but his last 7 goals in competitive matches (plays up front) have consisted of just 1 with his right, 2 with his head, and 4 with his left. Great to see my coaching has paid off....nothing worse than seeing a player run around the ball to get it on to his strong foot.
A couple of months I became a coach of his team and the first thing I brought in to the training routine was getting them to kick with their weaker foot. Aside from my lad, a few are ok using it without being great, but most are pretty useless and have clearly never been told to use it.
One lad is a fair little player, a defensive type who is nothing flash but is hard working and is reliable in that he does his job - well his dads a complete loon, thinks his kids the best player in the team and continually tells him that....tells him he's the playmaker

anyway, I've never seen a 10yo kick a ball with his weaker foot so badly, doesn't know how to approach the ball and then just toepokes it....hard to believe that his dad has never got him using it.
I play 5-a-side once or twice a week and to be fair adults are just as guilty....you feel like shouting "JUST HIT IT WITH YOUR LEFT FOOT YOU BIG FUCKING SPASTIC!"
