There was much conjecture that Kanchelskis was under the influence of the mafia certainly while he played for Rangers but maybe even when he was at Man U.

In the light of the Davydenko episode last week I just wondered if anyone here has any stuff that might also defend Davydenko´s ´blatant´attempts at market fixing? The guy seems like a pukka gent from what I ´ve seen .


For what it´s worth, the ex-Man U winger is now back home and playing for Krylya Sovetov.

Hope the mafia boys are leaving him alone nowadays.

I stand corrected.
According to Wikpaedia, Kanchelskis is now director at FC Nosta Novotroitsk.

Kanchelskis was awesome at Everton, one of my favourite players for that first season he was there, scored nearly 20 goals I think that season from the wing. Shit the season after for some reason though so we offloaded him to Fiorentina. His best ever season was that first season with us

the rumours were very strong about Kanchelskis when he was at manure , I heard it a few times that he was basicaklly owned by the russian mafia , he didn't want to leave United but he had no choice and Fergie said as much when he went.
Not disimilar to a certain transfer story concerning a gentleman called Carlos Tevez , not many will have heard of this saga but word is that he's owned too
