Bye Bye Martin Jol

No way he will be in charge for the game at Anfield on Sunday now with this result, 1-4 at home in the 65th minute to Aston Vanilla.

Robbo was at fault for the freekick there for sure. Quite a turn around for Villa because Spurs were mauling them for the first 20 minutes or so.

Anyway - goodbye Martin, it's been fun having you here.

I think he'll stay for Saturday's game. What's more, I think he'll get a point off Liverpool.

I do hope he stays about for Sunday's game, because we'll stuff them. I fear a new manager and the lads play better than they have done for weeks with the new gaffer in charge.

Oh a Sunday game is it. Yes I remember now this is the week that there's a full top flight program with only one kick off at 3 o'clock on a Saturday.

I suppose you've got to take into account the European games in midweek.

I'm sure that Reading, Derby, Fulhm and Pompey will be needing the rest.

Re: Bye Bye Martin Jol

Maybe it deserves its own thread, but when you look at the games that actually play on Sunday, you could have had at least 4 of them on the Saturday:

Sunday, 07 October 2007
Arsenal v Sunderland, 12:00
Blackburn v Birmingham, 15:00
Bolton v Chelsea, 15:00
Fulham v Portsmouth, 16:10
Liverpool v Tottenham, 15:00
Man City v Middlesbrough, 15:00
Newcastle v Everton, 15:00
Reading v Derby, 14:00

The ones in bold should not be scheduled for a Sunday because they dont involve teams in the UEFA cup and to be honest, I cant see that they're big TV games that warrant a Sunday kick off.

And another thing - what a cunt of a journey to have to make for 12pm on a Sunday - Arsenal v Sunderland.

What bell-end thought of that fixture?

It's a TV game and they don't want too many of you nasty northern types down there cluttering up the capital.

Probably good news for you in the long run Swoops. You never know, with the Spurs job vancant, O'Neil might have been tempted to go to a big club
