You Have To Be Kidding Me - Scotland Squad
Jesus christ, just when I thought we were starting to make movements in football and go somewhere we are dealt with this setback.
Here is the squad for the crucial next 2 qualifiers...
Quote:
Scotland squad Goalkeepers: Gordon (Sunderland), Marshall (Norwich), McGregor (Rangers)
Defenders: Alexander (Burnley), Caldwell (Celtic), Dailly (West Ham), Hutton (Rangers), McEveley (Derby), McManus (Celtic), Naysmith (Sheffield United), Weir (Rangers)
Midfielders: Brown (Celtic), Ferguson (Rangers), Hartley (Celtic), McCulloch (Rangers), Pearson (Derby), Robson (Dundee United), Teale (Derby)
Forwards: Beattie (West Brom), Boyd (Rangers), McFadden (Everton), Maloney (Aston Villa), Miller (Derby), O'Connor (Birmingham).

Christian fucking Daily. Give me a break. Im sorry he has been a great servant down the years but its way too past him now. Im sure there was a younger player who weren't past their sell by date and could actually do something for us.
I hope to god he doesn't feature

Yes he has been a good servant. In fact, they did consider him to play a servant in the sit com "Acorn antiques" but they were looking for someone with a bit more pace so they got Julie Walters instead.

ODM knows this as he was there to audition for a part himself. It's where he met Winrew you know - he was there to audition for the part of one of the antiques
Anyway, there's no respectful way of saying this Kiko, so I'll just come out with it. You've got players in there from the likes of Burnley, Norwich, West Brom, and far more Derby players than can be healthy at international level. On paper, there's no way a squad like that should be getting results, but Scotland are. I don't know what they're doing right, but it's obviously something, and they're getting the most out of the limited resources they've got. If those limited resources involve Christian Dailly rather than whoever he's replaced, then so be it, you just need to keep the faith in the management team that they can continue the good work.

For what this is worth, I dreamt last night that Graham Alexander scored a late equaliser for us in a 1-1 draw with Italy. Safe to say that's what my money's going on come match time.

So how about you start with your list of these younger players, WITH international experience, who would do a better job than him then Kiko.
Next you will be saying bin Davie Weir as he is too old
Lets face it, we are at the crucial end of a long campaign, nerves will be jangling. If Anderson had been fit, he would have been in - but he is not. If Pressley had been fit and playing - he would be in. If Webster had been fit and playing - he would be in. After those there ain't many players who have any sort of experience at this level who are not already there.
Put it this way, if we are 1-0 up in Georgia with 10 to go and need someone to come on and do a job, I would rather have Dailly than some youngster with little or no international experience. Nows the time for steady, old heads, not experimentation.
Dailly will not start, he is 4th choice behind McManus, Weir and Caldwell. But if he is needed, he won't let us down.
How dare you question Sir Alex of McLeish

Re: You Have To Be Kidding Me - Scotland Squad
Because we dont have 11 McFaddens?
Youd have to define struggling for me anyway, 5th in the league and in both cups were contesting so far. I dont know what else can be expected. Anyway this a thread about Scotland, stop distracting me.
(Secondary answer = Phil Neville/Phil Jagielka in centre midfield).

Re: You Have To Be Kidding Me - Scotland Squad
Well that answer took about 40 minutes longer than I expected.
I liked Jagielka at United Muze, is he not playing well then?

Re: You Have To Be Kidding Me - Scotland Squad
Hes being played in centre midfield when he plays (in and out the side) and I can honestly say he may well be the worst central midfielder I have ever seen, diabolical. I hope he never plays for us there ever ever again. To be fair I thought he was a defender and I dont know wtf is going on with it all.

Re: You Have To Be Kidding Me - Scotland Squad
I thought he was a left sided defender who was sometimes pushed up to left side of midfield when circumstances dictated. I didn't realise he was used as a central midfielder. Tricky will fill us in no doubt.
He still scores the odd goal though and he will replace cahill (sacrelige) as my long priced first scorer for live games. I backed Arteta midweek by the way
