D Day for Liverpool

Well its come down to the day - Will they, or wont they be allowed a place in this season Champions League. Champions must be allowed to defend their title. I think they will be allowed in, they should be - shouldnt they? Bet theres a lot of anxious Liverpool associates today!!

It'll also be interesting to see how they split the money between the English clubs. Liverpool's inclusion mean's someone is going to miss out. Understandably, Everton have already stated that they are not going to accept a penny less than normal.

From BBC.

The key points:

Liverpool get the smallest share of England's television money if they reach the group stages.

But any other English teams involved - from Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester United and Everton - will still get less money than they would have done were Liverpool not involved.
I don't think Everton have much say in what they get or don't get Daikoku, UEFA decide the split as far as I know?

Re: D Day for Liverpool

Not sure if any of the clubs will have a say Crowie. I guess they can only voice their objections and hope Uefa listen.

I don't know how much money the teams will miss out on but surely it'll have the biggest impact on Everton.

Whislt I like the fact that Liverpool will get to defend their title, I feel it's a bit unfair that the likes of Everton will suffer financialy as a result. That's life I guess.

Re: D Day for Liverpool

Glad they are in - but why should they get less money? I know its the least of their worries but it is being treated as if they have commited a crime and are being made too worry is it not?

Uefa arent as stupid after all as we all imagined - if they never allowed Liverpool to enter they wouldve really caused a whole load of shite. Great aswell that future champions will be able to defend their title, thats how it should be!
