Re: Benitez - Crisis point?

In his post match press conference, Benitez hit out at Tom Hicks and George Gillette (pictured above) saying that they dont understand the transfer window and its importance to the club.

Benitez is anxious to get his January signings agreed now, the Americans arent. My bet is that the credit crunch in the US, the extra £100m needed for the stadium and the current £/$ exchange rate are hitting the tycoons where it hurts - football can seriously damage your wallet.

Oh and a little birdie tells me Rafa is going to leave/will be sacked before Wednesday's game against Porto. Fingers crossed that it turns out to be bollocks.

Re: Benitez - Crisis point?

Might be worth backing him for the next England Manager now at 36 on betfair with a view to laying it later as his price will surely drop should he become available.

LFCOnline have reported that AFU.

They are usually very good for breaking stories apparantly.

Re: Benitez - Crisis point?

Just put a little on Benetiz to be next England manager at mid 30s on Betfair.

Price should drop if this story is true.

Re: Benitez - Crisis point?

Indeed mate. It probably wil drop. If he walks out, then there will be no severance pay and Rafa will be free to work for whoever he wants. Unlikes Maureen, who cant get another league club yet.

Regardless, it looks like the Rafatollah will be making an appearance midweek.

Get in.

Benitez still available at 7.00 at Corals to be next manager to leave as well!

Going to have a small bet on this, just in case!

Re: Benitez - Crisis point?

Brilliant - here's Rafa's quote from his press conference last week:

As always, I am focussed on coaching my team

And here's the response from the fans, big fuck off banner down the front of the kop on Wednesday night.

'AS ALWAYS, WE ARE FOCUSSED ON SUPPORTING OUR MANAGER'

There's a show of support (not a protest) for Benitez starting at 6.30 at a pub down the road from the Kop. Hopefully a few thousand will turn up and show people the weight of feeling in favour of Senor Benitez.

Re: Benitez - Crisis point?

Ole Ole

Rafael Must Stay!

Brilliant! I cant say how happy I was with the turnout on Wednesday and the way everything went. I was conscious that the demo (call it what you will) would turn anti-American rather than pro-Rafa. It didnt.

By the end I would say there were around 5'000 Liverpool fans walking the streets of Anfield, behind the sacred Rafatollah. It got media coverage in the uk, in Spain and accross the globe on ESPN and other websites etc. That really is the way to do it. No fucking way Hicks can sack Benitez after this. As one banner quite rightly said, "You are custodians - the club's ours - Rafa Stays".

Spot on.
