Billy Davies - On His Bike

Interesting.

Billy Davies gets an average Championship team up last year and then finds himself out by the end of November.

I dont know whether to feel sorry for the guy because he's got promotion "too soon" and hasnt been able to sustain it. Or whether he's moaned to fuck, wasted money on Dobbie Earnshaw and deserves everything that comes his way.

Paul Ince for Derby?

Paul Jewell, he's linked with every job going at the moment isnt he?

Nah he never deserved to be sacked. What did they expect to happen this season? Derby werent even that good a championship team really. Its being punished for doing too good/lucky the season before.

I guess if they got a good/young manager instead it would make some sense though. Paul Ince would make sense.

Re: Billy Davies - On His Bike

£3.5 million on Earnshaw and never played the cunt this season.

Plus of late, he's whinged and whinged with regards to funds etc. IMO, he realised he'd taken the club as far as he could and his sniping at the board and in the direction of Adam Pearson was done to get a pay off. He wanted them to sack him and he wanted a pay off.

Thats my take on it.

Re: Billy Davies - On His Bike

Billy Davies - he spent about 10 million quid on cast offs for what was already a pretty threadbare squad and suffered accordingly. Derby's position surprises no-one. They caught the breaks last year and were not prepared to compete.

What about Roy Keane. I can't believe he hasn't been mentioned in terms of losing his job - he has spent well over 30 million and there are huge question marks over lots of those signings. They need 3 points very badly next week and if they don't get it is his position secure. Quinn has backed him to a hilt but there are some hard nosed business behind the Drumville consortium and I wonder will business pragmatism triumph if he doesn't start to turn things around fairly quickly?

Funny isnt it. The press have been so busy hounding Martin Jol, McLaren and now Benitez that they seem to have missed out on the Keane story altogether. A man who spent 3 times the amount Davies had to lay out and yet he escapes all criticism.

I think its because they reckon he'll be United Manager one day and dare not offend him, incase he tells their paper where to go when it comes to future interviews. A bit like the way Fat Sam, Whiskey Nose & Redknapp shun the Beeb.

Re: Billy Davies - On His Bike

Oh and while we're on the "managers escaping criticism" lark, what about Fergie not being slated for his failed rotation at the weekend? He left Ronaldo on the bench and lost the game. If that was Benitez and Torres, we both know what the headlines would have been come Sunday.

Spineless fucking hacks.

Re: Billy Davies - On His Bike

Davies would have been better off taking Derby to the play offs, losing the final, staying in the Championship and having them sitting around top 6 at the moment again. He would still be in a job right now if thats what had happened.
