How do they know they have never had a good manager? They have never given one a chance to see if he is any good. I have never liked Newcastle, for no particular reason mind just one of those instant dislikes, and they deserve everything they get.
Fuckin idiots.

Re: Big Sam leaves Newcastle...
I agree waz, they shud have given the fat bastid more time, he didnt help himself by not speaking to the BBC just becos they exposed him as a crook , allegedly.
I rekon the barcodes were jealous of what Sven has done in the same ampunt of time so that's why he's gone .
I hope they give it to Shearer , or Jose , although I have him pencilled in for Liverpool

 Keem
I agree that Man City are doing better than Newcastle. Both managers have had a tenure of equal length - but lets not forget that Sven has been able to spend more than Fat Sam.
Soccerbase has City's net spend this season as £23m and that's without including Corluka and Bojinov - were they both frees?
Sam spent £4m

Corluka and Bojinov were both signed for "undisclosed" amounts of money, though they're thought to be £8m and £5.75m respectively!

I see. So an unfair comparison in that respect then - I mean looking at Sam and Sven and comparing the two.

Re: Big Sam leaves Newcastle...
From the BBC
Shearer rules out Newcastle job
| Shearer scored 206 goals in his time with Newcastle
| Sources close to Alan Shearer have confirmed to the BBC this evening that he is extremely unlikely to be the next manager of Newcastle.
Shearer says he is currently very happy with his job on Match of the Day. The former England captain, who played for the Magpies for nearly 10 years and ended his career at St James' Park, had been strongly linked with the post. Newcastle are beginning the hunt for their seventh manager in 11 years after the departure of Sam Allardyce.

Re: Big Sam leaves Newcastle...
Unfortunately the majority of Toon fans think they should be automatically top 6 and challenging top 4 every season.....because about 12 years ago they finished 2nd twice in a row playing some lovely football.
Personally I think Newcastle would be lucky to be a top 10 side nowadays. They will never challenge the top 4 but teams like Everton, Man City, Villa, Pompey, Blackburn are all well ahead of them and other sides like Spurs and West Ham are making improvements and building teams which work well together.
Newcastle have a top quality goalkeeper....and thats it.
I would argue against anyone that there is not one other member of their side who is top quality.
You have your "names" like Owen and Duff, on big big salaries and not kicking a ball for them....thats when they are actually fit enough to be on the pitch. That pair are probably taking home the best part of £150k a week in wages from them and giving nil return. You could add Emre and Martins to that, two ex-Inter Milan players. The reason they are ex is because they weren''t consisttent enough there and thats why they are here. Emre is 1 good game in 10, Martins probably about 1 in 5.
You have a handful of promising players -
NZogbia, although rather worryingly for a left winger looks better at left back, Milner, who has a handful of good games followed by handful of bad, and Taylor, a good hard comitted defender.
You then have a handful of foreign players who Sam brought in -
Faye - who has looked a decent big no nonense defender and exactly what they need, Cacapa, Beye and Rozenhal all from France for grand total of about £5m and who can all be passable at times but are all decidely average and finally Enrique, a £6m left back who has looked terrible so far.
You then have his Brits - he brough in Smith and Barton for about £11m, neither have kicked a ball worth mentioning and you have Geremi (ok, I know he is not a Brit but he has played in the EPL for a decent amount of time), who shows exactly why he was a squad player at Real Madrid and Chelsea and a first team player at Boro and Newcastle - he is average. Ohh and Viduka who plays when he fancies, otherwise your are as well playing with 10 men. It says a lot that Nicky Butt is their best "Brit" and probably their most consistent performer. It also shows what a good grooming at a proper football club does for you.
So all in all you have a good goalie, a handful of underachieving big name players, a handful of average foreign defenders, a handful of semi decent youngsters and a handful of semi decent but generally underperforming "Brits". How anyone can think they should be better placed than they are at present, I will never know. Sam has the Newcastle squad exactly where they should be, just below mid-table, AVERAGE.
Off that squad Shay Given is the only one who would possibly push for a start at a top 4 side, and then probably only with Man Utd or Arsenal. The rest would not be first choice. And when you look through the other sides who are challenging for top 6 they all have better players they have brought in in recent season than what Newcastle have brought in - Arteta, Cahill, Lescott, Elano, Corkula, Young, Santa Cruz, McCarthy, Pedersen, etc etc.
The thing is someone else is going to have to come in now and will want to build their own side and add their own players and get rid of some of the players there and its just going to be more money spent and more money spent on paying off contracts or selling players at a loss. Its just mental.
Its got to be the worst job in England. The fans expect a success they are never going to get (in the forseeable future) and give each manager about 1 year for it to be produced. Big Sam was unlucky and only got 6 months. The most mental sacking of the season IMO.

Thought Smith was about £6m Keem? Cording to Soccerbase he is and thats the fee I remember as well.
Beye and Faye were £2m a piece on deadline day. Cacapa was a free. Think Rozenhal was about £3m as well but he did get £13m from the Hammers for Dyer and Parker.

Re: Big Sam leaves Newcastle...
The thing is most decent sides in the EPL look like TEAMS, sets of players who work well together, work to a set of tactics and all know what they should be doing in each situation. Newcastle look like a set of individuals all wearing the same top.
That Stoke game on Sunday was another example. Smith and Butt in the centre of midfield = no creativity. NZogbia and Duff changed wings more often than I change me pants. Viduka and Owen probably didn't get once decent pass all night and probably never once linked together. Again the keeper and the two centre halves (Taylor and Faye) saved them from a pumping.

Yeah but he recouped £8m from the sale of Luque and Dyer - so really his outlay was was only £4m.

I think the problem here is the supporters and who exactly supports the club.
Until the early 1990's - SJP was a shit hole and newcastle were getting crowds of around 12'000. Then Sir John Hall/Keegan and latterly Shepherd came in and turned the club around. The club 'gained' a extra 30'000 fans virtually overnight.
Most of these fans probably arent old enough to remember the last time Newcastle won a fucking trophy.
I know you might say it's generalising, but I honestly believe that these fans are a noisy majority, have unrealistic expectations and lead to sackings like this. They're Jonny come latelies who dont know what it takes to make a successful football club.
