Harry Gregg talks for the first time of the Munich disaster

http://www.bbc.co.uk/northernireland...ichremembered/

This is a facinating interview with Harry Gregg on the munich disaster, Harry is the true hero of this crash which is remembered this week after 50 years.

I live close to Harry and have been a lifelong friend i have followed his career from local team Coleraine to Doncaster Rvs and then Manchester United.

Other men have been honoured for pen pushing for the government Harry on surviving the crash unhurt dashed into the burning wreckage and rescued a baby and it's mother .He also helped out of the stricken aircraft Matt Busby ,Bobby Charlton and Jackie Blanchflower.

Aye , just heard it on 5 live , he's a hero alright although he'd roll his eyes and tell you to fuck off if you called him that.
It's just a horrible pity that the whole event seems to hinge on this ridiculous minutes silence with everyones main focus being wether it will be ruined or not, but what the fuk can you do?

here's a good article , gives some anti-united points but counters quite well too

Re: Harry Gregg talks for the first time of the Munich disaster

First off I think its a shame that we're talking about a couple of knob heads potentially ruining a minute's silence here. I think the media are partially to blame for this hysteria, in that they are the ones that have hyped this story from its origins (a City supporters club writing to Man U asking them for a minute's applause) to now. The media love whipping up hysteria and some sections of them have already branded City fans as disrespectful, moronic and even thuggish - before anyone's actually done anything.

Great interview, listened to it in work yesterday morning while I was browsing. Sounds hellish.

Aye good interview and there were some good interviews in the Salford City reporter last week as they dedicated a few pages to the Munich disaster.

Man U tv is also free to air for all cable and satellite viewers tomorrow if anybody fancies watching that shite..

Re: Harry Gregg talks for the first time of the Munich disaster

You know what makes me sick to the core - is Man U putting the service on MUtv. Some might say I should fuck off and its none of my business - but the way Man U are blatantly trying to capitalise on this saddest of occasions makes me sick.

First we have a mural on the side of old trafford with the team of '58 on and someone in the marketing department decides to stick an AIG logo on what should be a plain, simple mural. No need for corporate bollocks. There is no place for making money out of such a sad occasion and no logo has a place on a tribute to their dead players.

Next, the Daily Mail reported that Man U wanted to charge the BBC to show the Munich service. The BBC refused to cough up and so they show it on MUTV, makes me sick. Yeah it might be free to air, but its a marketing decision to get people watching their channel and again its fucking horrible - the thought of making cash out of someone else's misery and misfortune.

No thanks.
