Dwain Chambers for Castleford - how?

Ive never liked Rugby but at all and dont know much about it but is there really no real skill involved in actually playing the game at all? How can Chambers, who has NEVER played Rugby have ANY chance whatsoever of getting in a decent professional team just like that?

Ive seen Castleford are bottom of their league but theyre still in the top div arent they? Then again I did hear hes never played football before either but he turned down a move to Derby County

Re: Dwain Chambers for Castleford - how?

Theres plenty of skill involved in Rugby if your amongst the action but Castleford will be looking at using him as a back on the wing, basically all he need do there is be in the right place at the right time, recieve the ball and run like fcuk down the wing.

Rugbys all about gaining yardage anyway you can and obviously the faster you are the more yardage you'll cover, out there on the wing he won't be amongst the battle in the middle of the park but will learn how to hand off players on his way to the oppositions line and tackle when the opposition come at him.

Rugby League unlike union is mainly about speed as you only get 6 tackles b4 a turrnover and you have to make as much yardage as possible in those 6 tackles, Chambers will be an option for Castleford and as the balls to hand and not foot it doesnt take much skill to run with it down the wing unlike football , the main concern is gaining the yardage.

I think he will fail miserably. I mean although he's fit, his body and muscle is used to working in a different way. His training has been about maximising performance over a 10 second period. Now he has to run and perform for upwards of an hour. Plus, his muscles have developed and are tuned to his sport - running. His build is all about running in a straight line. Rugby is all about zig zagging, dodging tackles etc - you have different muscles in operation. He will ache like fuck after his first game and we havent even mentioned what its gong to feel like being tackled by a 16 stone fat cunt.

Cardiff rugby club had Nigel Walker a 110m hurdler join them after he failed to make the olympic squad after representing Britain in previous olympics , he eventually played for Wales, saw him score a classic against scotland , got to check but i think he scored against england when it was the 5 nations
i suppose they want him to score one like this one , p.s. commentary in Welsh

Castleford are the laughing stock of the rugby at the moment
Bottom of the league so they sign a disgraced sprinter !!!
Its okay saying he will stop on the wing , but he will still get plenty of upstairs downstairs tackles.
He will not even get a run out with the first team , its all about publicty , god knows what Cas are thinking .....
Oh , AFU , not many 16 stone fat cnuts in the top tier of RL nowadys , i think your getting mixed up with Rugby Union....

Man I hope he gets it on in some game against an Australian side. Would love to see one of the big boys from ma fave league the NRL knock 18 bags of steroids out of him...Willie Mason or Awen Gutenbeil would do nicely

You must be flying too high Winrew, at ground level there's no fat cnuts in RU. .
I don't think Ibanez, Freshwater, Hayes or any of the Jones boys qualify as "fat". Brian O'Driscoll is technically obese but if thats obese I'll sign up in the morning.
Mind you 16 stone is not very heavy in the modern game. I used to play second/third row but would probably not make scrum half these days.
Have to admit I don't have a great passion for league, but different strokes etc. etc.
Do like a game of soccer mind, just can't stand all the overpaid scumbags & assorted poofs rolling around on the pitch when someone looks in thier direction.

Don't remember Hughes, Cantona, Lawrenson, Thompson et al mucking about like that.

Oh well, I think I'll go down and draw my pension.........once I find my teeth

Rugby Union is played by chubby sexual deviants who have had a good private education and love rolling in the mud, molesting each other's testicals. That's when they're not dressing up as a baby, getting bottle fed wearing just a nappy and then getting paddled by some gimp for being "a bad boy"....

Hello EGD, I take it you're a league man .
Have you seen Wexford Bhoy's thread?
He lost last weekend but over a season he has a fantastic stike rate.
Come on over if you've got the time, the more the merrier.
Don't worry about what you do or don't know, post what you back.

Maybe you can bring a few more insights on league or maybe you have a few tips for the S14............or anything else rugby related.

Good to have a different outlooks on the games, helps everyone .

Hope to hear from you soon .

Snodser.

OT: I wonder if Dwain Chambers was approached for Sky's version of Gladiators? Du'aine Ladejo was.
