I dont want anyone to think that I have started this thread to either gloat at Derby or their fans, I actually think its a sad affair actually. I would get great satisfaction from seeing Roy Keane get relegated or Steve Bruce but I like Jewell and dont mind Derby either.
The Derby fans are still turning out in great numbers and paying good money to see their team get fucking battered most weeks, by mediocre (at best) teams. 0-6 today at the hands of Martin O'Neill's troop. I really do feel sorry for them.
Their average attendance for the season is 32360 - or 96.3% of capacity, every home game. Astounding given the season the fans have had to endure.
I think they have set a new record for the longest win-less streak in the Premiership and are heading for the lowest ever points tally. So with the bottom of the table looking like this:
And their next fixtures looking like this:
West Ham (a)
Arsenal (h)
Blackburn (a)
Reading (h)
Is it too late for them to salvage something from the season, save face and retain a little dignity before being dumped back into the second tier of English football?
