Hats off Randy Lerner

Just to prove that not all foreign owners are fucking divvys, Randy Lerner (Villa owner) apparently arranged for a club shirt with "mellberg" on the back to be placed on every seat in the away end today for the travelling villa support. Along with a letter of thanks for their support throughout the season.

Nice gesture from a decent bloke, especially given that Mellberg is due to leave the club in the summer too.

And to cap it all off, Villa qualified for the inter-toto cup today. Well done.

But as we all know, the Midlands "doesnt do football"

Probably just trying to get rid of surplus stock before he leaves.

You've got to respect the man really, not just for the gesture yesterday but for supporting and letting the manager get on with things his way, he's not come the big i am like that twat at Anfield and has generally kept himself out of the headlines. A good season for Villa and i think an even better one next.

Nah I don’t believe they would have that many mellberg shirts pre-printed. It wouldn’t be economically viable.

I remember seeing last year he gave away a free scarf to the fans for the last game too. No matter what the cynics might say, I think it’s a nice gesture.

Surely fair play to Olof Mellberg seeing it was him who bought the 3,000 shirts for the Villa fans as his going away present?!

Typical Yanks, trying to take credit for someone elses good gestures.
