54 points isn't an awful lot to make up. You gained 32 points on me last week rcgills, and there is another 8 weeks to go.

Yes, but to a large extent that was due to my choice of captain. I don't often make the right choice there, and I reckon I've had my stroke of luck for the next month or so, and after Lampard let you down this week, it'll be your turn again soon and you'll start pulling away again.

I made some rubbish transfers to help you catch me up RCGills. I took out Matt Taylor then he goes and gets 2 goals and an assist, and Bridge who played and kept a clean sheet on Saturday. My strikers are firing blanks at the mo (as are the rest of my team!)

Just wanted to post this for posterity Tricky's got 4 players in tonight's match compared to 3 for me, so I may be knocked off the top again by tonight.

I am sure I was 1 point up when I checked a few days ago. now its turned into a share of 1st place. Lets see what happens with this weekends fixtures!

still only 1 point in it. Will be surprised though if I don't extend that 1 point by the end of this gameweek. I actually made a good transfer this week, brought in Van der Saar who got 12 points yesterday, which would have been just 2 without the peno save.

You think so, Tricky? I'm not so sure, I reckon I actually stand a decent chance of overtaking you this week. I've got Barry guaranteed to come in as an automatic sub (Taylor didn't play for Portsmouth), so that's 4 points extra. Then I've got 2 games for Berbatov (also my captain), although you've got him in your team too, but I'll double any points you score there. Then I've got 2 games for Lennon, plus Fabregas, Ronaldo and McCarthy (who's also in your team). That's potentially 8 extra scores, 2 of them doubled. You've got 2 games for Lampard and Jenas, only 1 for Carvalho seeing as he's missing for Chelsea today, and then one each for Van Der Saar, Rooney (captain) and Berbatov. So for you that's also potentially 8 extra scores, but only one of them doubled.

Only one thing certain, and that's that it looks like it'll be decided on the final day. Good luck

Actually, my calculations were well off the other day - Tricky actually had 10 extra games to come as I missed off one game for Berbatov, and also McCarthy. Have also just realised I'm wrong about Barry coming into my team, that can't happen as I'd end up with a 2-5-3 formation which is impossible, so it'll be Distin (2pts) that gets brought in.

Anyway, an 8pt lead for me now, effectively 10pts with Distin to come in, but Tricky has 7 players involved midweek as opposed to just 4 for me. It's going to be close.

Manchester United and Chelsea's decision to play reserve sides did me a huge favour there, it has to be said I've finally made it into the top 50 Spanish teams too, I've got the 25th best team in Spain

picking berbatov for your captain, while I had Rooney made a huge difference last week. In fact it was 16 points, and that's the lead you have pulled out. I decided to go with Berbatov for captain this week, though I am guessing you will have done.
Doubts over whether players from man utd, chelsea and liverpool will be rested makes it tricky, though brought Finnan back in to reverse my transfer when I replaced him with Calvalho.
