Southgate got to manage Boro, Championship Sunderland is the least Keane should get a shot at really. He is a cnut but hes a cnut whos always achieved what he set out to do in football so far

If he gets the job I'll be pissed off on two counts...

Firstly I dislike him because basically he's an arsehole

Secondly I backed him at double-figure odds for the Sunderland job before Quinn appointed himself manager

Can't see him being the answer to be honest - we need someone with loads of experience and proven ability to turn things around. The only plus point is that he should take no shit I suppose.

Dark days indeed for us Mackems

I think you can look at a personality and judge whether he will be a success or not. Southgate seems intelligent, articulate and a decent motivator. Keane is a cunt.

He has inherited a squad that couldnt play in a sand pit together and now its his job to fuse the fragile players together. They will have fuck all confidence having barely won a game in 15 months and keane is just what they dont need IMO.

Not too many Keane backers on this thread !
No one can argue the guy was a world class player who wore his heart on his sleeve and had the will to win, unlike most of the Irish and some of the Man U squad players that he played with. Anyone remember the Juve CL semi final and the "terrific" 2-2 draw against the Dutch after 2 nil up.
As a manager who knows - hopefully will make a better fist if it than John Barnes/Liam Brady/Mick McCarthy
I for one hope he proves you all wrong

Re: Sunderland will be appointing a world class manager...err shortly.

Its a huge risk to take IMO, Like Stuart Pearce he'll probably manage with his heart on his sleeve and expect players to produce like they once did but i don't think Sunderland are in a position to take chances with a man who has never managed before.
At least Pearce had a bit of stability at City and they were safe when he first took over the helm giving him the last half dozen or so matches of the end of the 2004/05 season to bed himself in and get used to the job.

Keane is being chucked in at the deep end here if he gets the job and under pressure from day one, i'll be very surprised if it does not end in tears.

I do indeed remember them Wexford. Decent player indeed.

Most good players never make it as a manager. How many 'world class' players make the transition in to management? Less still make the grade with a temprament as questionable as keane.

Look at the Premiership managers and name me one in the league who was a world class player. In-fact, name me one truly world class player that has made the step up in to management in the last 5 / 10 years.

The King Kenny was the last one I can think of.

Re: Sunderland will be appointing a world class manager...err shortly.

I've always liked Quinn but Sunderland will be number one on my most hated list from this day until that Irish wanker Keane spits his dummy out and walks off.

That means I'll be backing them every week if it costs me every penny I've got

By the way, I think they play West Brom on sky shortly which will be interesting to see at least one of the ex United whinging whining fuckin wankers crying in the after match interview about the referee or their assistants (if they don't bottle it and send someone else out to do it).

Don't be too harsh on them, it's the only way they know.

And as if things could get any worse, there's talk of that other ex United failure Brian Kidd being Keane's assistant.

Wankers
