Sunderland will be appointing a world class manager...err shortly.

Well I must say that I had a feeling Bury would dump Sunderland out of the league cup yesterday.

It would be out of character for the Maccems to record a win. I must say though that I am slightly disappointed Quinn's reign at Sunderland hasnt got off to a better start. When he came out on Sky at the weekend and said many of his players had played their last ever game though for the club I did watch in wonder. Hardly the ideal motivator is it when your boss tells you via the telly that you're probably gonna be sold.

Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

So yeah, Quinny announced last night that there is a 70% chance Sunderland will have a world class manager before there game on Monday.

Errrrm, who do we all think is in the frame?

David O'Leary (finally given a chance with a big club, none of those rubbish midlands clubs)

Sam Allardyce (ruled himself out of contention apparently)

Sven Goran Erikson (surely not??)

Alan Curbishley (ruled himself out of the job on Talk Sports today too)

Cant think of anyone else that would move and certainly NO world class managers. Maybe he was pissed when interviewed?

Certainly not, no . But let's face it, does anyone actually believe the "world class" bit?

I have to say i think Quinn's made a huge mistake saying they will have a "world class" manager in place hopefully by the weekend.

The fans and everyone else's expectations are going to be very high now and if he doesn't deliver the big name he is saying he will then there is going to be some hell to pay you'd think.

If he does get in your average shit boss that has failed at a dozen clubs before (and Im thinking of the likes of Hoddle, Reid, John Gregory, Big Ron etc) their fans will surely be wondering why he couldnt have signed them a month ago.

Their season is all but ruined isnt it, 1 week left of the transfer window and so why delay this long.

What an appointment by Quinn

As big a name as it gets as a player. Can he do it as a manager?

Be interesting to find out whatever happens

Re: Sunderland will be appointing a world class manager...err shortly.

I thought they didn't like each other?

Was Quinn not one of Keane's most vocal critics after the Saipan incident at the 2002 WC?

And did Keane not deafy Quinn's Ireland v Sunderland charity testimonal because of that?

Great player etc but will he make a decent manager? Quite often the problem with such great players is that they expect their teams/players to perform to the same standards as they did themselves when players. Don't think Sunderland have many Roy Keane's hiding away in their squad at the moment.

Shit appointment. Unproven manager and whose to say that he wont have the same record as Quinn.

He isnt a manager. Yeah he's a big name but then again so is Stelios Giannakopoulos and I wouldnt want him managing my club.

Well, its a shock & no mistake, but to call it a shit appointment when hes no form to go on is ludicrous IMO. Who knows what will happen ?? The time to judge is in 6-8 months IMO

Swoops you know how much I respect your judgement (I hope) but this is fuckin shit by anyone's standards and it smacks of desperation.

To announce that you're gonna get a world class manager and then appoint some fuckin Irish thug who's likely to chin the fuckin tea lady within the first week is a move so stupid that it ranks right up there with the design of motorbike ash trays.

To be fair, he's always said he wanted to go into management. I'm not sure he realises that as a manager he's going to have to put up with overpaid, over rated, over opinionated, brain dead players who think they know everything.

Which is surprising really as he was one of them.
