Re: Scotland This Week

It happened to an Aston Villa keeper too not so long ago. To make it worse, I'm sure it was against Birmingham too but I'm sure Swoops will fill us in on the details.

All this talk is very entertaining but the cold hard facts are that England are going to qualify and Scotland are so it's all just pissing in the fog really isn't it.

Re: Scotland This Week

I havent seen the goals but are we talking the Villa goal conceded by Enckelman when he let a thrown in graze his studs & trickle in or are we talking the one where our goalie just missed a back pass ??

Neither should have counted obviously I'm sure Bromsgrove would agree.......

Re: Scotland This Week

I was talking about the Enckelman one. It was the one where the fan came right up to his face laughing at him. It's one of the very few times I've actually felt sorry for a pro footballer and he did well not to punch the fat stupid Brumie cunt in the face.

I think the fan was subsequently banned from ever watching Birmingham again.

Personally, I think he should have been punished instead.

(PS - Note to Mickey - Like you've never posted off topic eh? )

I don't post off topic, ODM!!! Consider yourself added to my list of enemies! Oh, you'll regret being on that list, son. Oh yes. My list. My list of enemies. Oooh, you'll hate being on that list so you will.

Scotland really are a woeful footballing side incidentally. Awful. And it hurts. Not me, but.....

Re: Scotland This Week

Aye sod off Englanders - this is a thread for proper fitba teams.

Thought Wattie made a few rare errors tonight(easy to say now, but I was saying the same at 0-0.) We came out in the 2nd half and got absolutely murdered for 15 minutes - that was the time something had to be changed as unlike the France game, Ukraine were creating great chances. Teale on for McFadden was the obvious choice, but we left it as it was and the home side eventually got the break they needed.

As mentioned is was a fair result tho. Miller's chance aside we didn't create much, although I don't think Pressley should have been sent off, nor should it have been a pen, altho it didn't matter at that stage.

3 points return from those 2 games is good, but Ukraine are now right back in it. The 4 in contention are basically back to a level playing field so we have it all to do again, but with Georgia at home next up we have a good chance to get ourselves going again.

Mon the Scots!

Very kind of you to say so ODM but I personally don't think we will qualify.

Showing your age there Keema and I think your memory slipping as it was Jim Blyth in goals, no big Roughie. Round about 79/80/81 v Wales I think.

Re: Scotland This Week

I was trying to find the right words to express why I didnt care at all if Croatia beat England and why I wanted Macedonia to win, and how I just hate the English national side media culture etc..

This guy did it for me though:

Quote:
As a Scot I never thought I would say it but I feel sympathy for the England fans. Your team of self-important posers are an absolute disgrace, when they are not "Ghost" writing coma-inducing biographies they are busy parading themselves around with their bleach-blond cash-machine partners. In short the England players do not care.
So true, thats why I dont care about the English national side, even though im a massive club football supporter.

Re: Scotland This Week

Watching Scotland in the last two matches has allowed me to get a glimpse of what supporters of smaller clubs go through watching a lot of "backs to the wall" performances during the season. Being a Celtic fan, I'm not used to it as most of every match is played in the opposition's half. I've nothing but admiration for supporters of clubs like Falkirk, St Mirren etc. In many ways they are the lifeblood of the game.

Scotland got a real going over from France and yet somehow we still won before coming back to earth last night in a match we never really looked like taking something from, though if Miller's header had gone in anything could have happened in the last 10 minutes.
