100 Players Who Shook The Kop

From www.liverpoolfc.tv

Four years after our ground-breaking '100 Days That Shook The Kop', we brought you the most talked about series of the summer. '100 Players Who Shook The Kop' series – was the definitive countdown of the 100 players who have made the biggest impact at Liverpool.

Over 110,000 supporters all nominated their own personal Top 10 players in order of impact made. Every player who made the top 100 – and there are some surprises in there - were all honoured on this website via the e-Season ticket console with a specially produced video clip, including archive footage and exclusive interviews.

Since 1892 hundreds of players have represented this club but everyone has their own particular favourites so don't expect this list to be based solely on talent. The greatness of a player can be measured in many ways – obviously, his ability on the pitch is the most important, but 100 PWSTK is much more than that. It's about the impact the individuals chosen have had on this club, be it for a variety of reasons. Maybe it was because of their unique rapport with the crowd, a specific incident that has never been forgotten or anything else that has left a lasting impression.

Here are the 100 players who have shook the Kop. (to view the clip, just click on their name).

King Kenny

I had a chuckle at that too, ODM. I had at chuckle at Gerrard also. Didn't even think he'd make the top 1,000. Fans are so easily pleased these days. Oooh, he has a really hard shot though!

You're forgetting that Liverpool fans don't think like normal football fans Swoops. Their minds seem to work differently somehow

Eh?

He went from being our best player and basically reguventating his whole career and getting back in the england squad to being a sub at Liverpool was my recollection.

Re: 100 Players Who Shook The Kop

I'm surprised Clemence got more votes than grobbelaar as he always came across as a miserable bastard, unlike Grobellaar who was certainly a character and his 'wobbly legs' routine in the European cup will go down as a piece of sporting memorabilia history.

Dalglish would have been my pick too for numero uno but Barnes @ 5 is just a piss take when you look at some of the great players above him.

Just noticed Collymore in there.

Maybe it's based on personality then? Or how far you can knock a Swede with one punch.

Re: 100 Players Who Shook The Kop

'100 players that shook the Kop' I take it Jan Molby slid into it then to get his entry

Harsh, actually, as I always liked Molby, but its definetly biased towards the modern day players....as invariably all this type of stuff is I guess

Barnes was up there with the very best of them Slick, apart from the goal against Brazil he will not remembered for his England performances but for Liverpool, he was the most skillful player we ever had. His style was more Brazilian than european.

Re: 100 Players Who Shook The Kop

He didnt do it often enough for me Kop, he had the talent but only seemd to turn it on when he felt like it, a lazy bastard if you ask me.
He looked the part @ Watford and seemed to have the world @ his feet, a move to Liverpool should have proved ideal for him to move onto the world stage and strut his stuff, i don't class a one off goal against Brazil in a friendly as setting the world alight.

I'd say Steve McManaman's goal against (i can't remember) in a competitive Euro match was a better one, when he took the balll from deep inside his own half and slotted it away.
I thought he was a lazy bastard too truth be told , both out of the same mould.

Personally i'd say Dalglish was the most skillfull player you ever had and he did it on a regular basis.

For a minute i thought supersub was not on the list but i see he's in @ 18, thats also quite high up for a player that was pretty average but i suppose he did swing a few matches abeit from the bench.

Carragher above Souness? ehhm as Swoops has mentioned the poll definately has a modern day swing to it.

By the way, Kop, when I saw the title for some reason I didn't immediately think of the Kop as in the part of Anfield, I thought you'd gone all David "The Hoff" Hasselhoff on us and you were talking about yourself in the 3rd person.
