Very sad news really...Top snooker player from Leeds loses his battle against cancer. Always seemed a decent bloke and only 27 years old....

aye - sad news indeed.

He could easily have hidden away from the World but he tried to fight it with a brave face.

Whoa! I don't pay much attention to snooker but last I saw of him he seemed to be recovering Seemed a really nice guy, with a young family too.

Aye last thing i knew he was back playing so i thought he was on his way back to his best.

Such a shame at such a young age too. Makes me think not too take too many things for granted. Leaves behind a one year old child and a wife too

Re: Paul Hunter dies..

Jeez, I am 10 years older than him. You never expect people of his age to get cancer and then die from it.

Like Kiko says, the last I remember of hearing about him was that he played (was it World Championship?) while obviously struggling health wise and was then planning to take a break to try and battle back to fitness. From that you sort of assumed he had beat it and was going to be back sometime soon.

Think thats the biggest shock of it all, everyone expected him to get better and be back.
