Brewster Sacked

Craig Brewster has been sacked as Dundee United manager and BBC Sport understands that Craig Levein will be announced as his replacement on Monday.



But Brewster could make a quick return to management with former club Dunfermline Athletic.

Brewster might have saved his job had the SPL's bottom side beaten Falkirk on Saturday, but they were hammered 5-1.

And his assistant, Malcolm Thomson, confirmed on Sunday that the pair were "now on gardening leave".

Dunfermline had held talks with Aberdour-born Levein, who is presently manager with Raith Rovers, last week. But it appears that he was waiting to see if Brewster could save his job with a victory at Falkirk Stadium.

Ineviatable i guess, especially after the humiliating defeat yesterday.

Its amazing how many managers reputation gets ruined at Dundee United isn't it.

The amount of up and coming managers that go there and fail is unbelievable and i really cant get my head round exactly why they all seem to fail.

brewster was a joke at ict and not a single fan ive spoken to was sad to see him go, hes just a fitness coach, a born loser on the park. goodbye and good riddance craig!

he didnt really conduct himself in the media too well this summer either, every transfer had to be negotiated through the press, made an arse of himself when none of the ict players wanted to join him.....
