I dont want to start a Hillsborough/The Sun thread and bleat on about this and that. People do seem to tire of them and fair enough everyone knows what happened and that is that. Everyone knows that what the Sun printed in the aftermath was utter garbage. They admitted this themselves in 2004 and apologised.

This gripe is with the ex editor of the Scum, Kelvin MacKenzie. He cant let things lie can he. Even after his paper admitted exaggerating facts and spreading vicious, incidious lies - the man still has the bare faced cheek to come out with this crap:

"I WASNT SORRY THEN, I'M NOT SORRY NOW"

He was making a speech at an after dinner event, still defending his position and the lies he told in the aftermath. What a twat. I really cant find the words at this point in time to do this justice. My hatred for this person just seems to grow. Not only will I never buy the Sun again, I wont listen to talk sport while this little scumbag is in charge of their parent company.

FORMER Sun editor Kelvin MacKenzie yesterday revealed "I was not sorry then and I'm not sorry now" for the paper's infamous coverage of the Hillsborough disaster.

Speaking at a business lunch, he told more than 100 guests he had only apologised to the people of Liverpool because the newspaper's owner Rupert Murdoch had ordered him to.

And he insisted the Sun had only been reporting "the truth" when it accused Liverpool fans caught in the terrace crush of urinating on the dead and stealing from bodies. Mr MacKenzie was guest speaker at the annual lunch of Newcastle law firm Mincoffs LLP.

A source told the Daily Post: "There was a question and answer session and someone asked him if he went to Liverpool much.

"He said: 'All I did wrong there was tell the truth. There was a surge of Liverpool fans who had been drinking and that is what caused the disaster.

'The only thing different we did was put it under the headline 'The Truth'.

'I went on the World at One the next day and apologised. I only did that because Rupert Murdoch told me to. I wasn't sorry then and I'm not sorry now because we told the truth.' "

The source added: "He then compared people in the city to animal rights protesters and told an anecdote about a time when he visited the city and got in a taxi.

"He said the driver was talking about The Sun and said if he ever had Kelvin McKenzie in his taxi he would kill him.

"Then he said if the things he had said today got out he was sure the whole thing would blow up again."

Last night, families of the 96 victims, Liverpool FC and politicians condemned Mr MacKenzie.

The head of the Hillsborough Family Support Group branded the comments callous and challenged him to repeat them to him face to face.

Phil Hammond, chairman of the Hillsborough Family Support Group, whose 14-year-old son died in the tragedy, said: "This just shows what kind of man he is.

"It has been proven that the story was a pack of lies yet here is all these years later peddling his lies on the after-dinner speaking circuit.

"Why doesn't he come and tell the families this to their faces?

"If he really believed he was printing the truth and stood by what he said then why didn't he walk away when Rupert Murdoch supposedly made him make this apology?"

A spokesman for Liverpool FC said: "Any comment of that nature would be totally inappropriate and hugely disappointing." Liverpool FC were playing Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup semi-final at the South Yorkshire stadium in 1989.

Lord Justice Taylor's official inquiry into the tragedy found the cause of the disaster was overcrowding and failures by the police.

The Sun apologised in July 2004 saying it was "truly sorry" and that its false allegations were "the most terrible mistake in its history."

But families of the victims refused to accept the apology, which was issued in the wake of the angry reaction on Merseyside caused by Everton and England soccer star Wayne Rooney's deal to tell his life story to the newspaper, for a reported £250,000.

He returned to The Sun to work as a columnist from May, 2006, and is also current boss of the Wireless Group.

Walton MP Peter Kilfoyle said: "His comments just reinforce the fact that he was an unfit person to run a national newspaper.

"Everybody knows he sanctioned that story and he will have to live with that."

Louise Ellman, MP for Liverpool Riverside, said: "I think it is outrageous.

"It shows that when prejudice is deeply ingrained it is very difficult to remove.

"All the facts, including the official inquiry, are against him. It is disgraceful."

I don't think he ever made it up to Scotland and that Question Time appearance he was meant to be making after his comments in the summer, mores the pity.

Some people make a living by being controversial in public and riling people up the wrong way. MacKenzie seems to be wanting to go down this route, only his comments seem to be much more than just wind up comments. He seems to want to go out of his way to insult and hurt people as much as he possibly can. Thats not "smart" or making a living, thats just being a class a cunt.

MacKenzie is a fucking tool.

He wrote an editorial piece in the English version of the Sun that basically said he was happy about a report that said Scots people die sooner than those in the south. In fact, those were pretty much the words he used, despite a very good chance of Scots heritage (look at the name for starters).

He was invited onto Question Time from Scotland twice recently and funnily enough, he pulled out of both of them, the one from Glasgow at the very last minute. Can't imagine why. If he's happy to stand by his words then he shouldn't have been bothered about appearing on QT. Shame, cos Tommy Sheridan was on it and I'd have fancied the chances of him chinning the twat.

MacKenzie's a fuckwit that likes the sound of his own rantings.

Was listening to Talksport on Wednesday morning and Alan Brazil made reference to Kelvin's remarks at the dinner but he let Graham Beecroft um and aah his way out of trouble with nary a criticism for their boss (as you do, otherwise Beecroft would be out of a job fairly sharpish).

I know stereo, makes me sick. He was due to appear on question time tonight. We bombarded the BBC and MacKenzie himself with official complaints. The latest I heard was that he pulled out of the show.

A few people from www.redandwhitekop.com/forum had managed to get tickets for the show and were due to harass him. Job done (hopefully).

Apparently he is due to present a show on Radio 5 Live on Christmas day. I have made an official complaint to the BBC about this as well. I have no problem with him presenting shows on commercial TV or Radio. That's fine. If they want to employ him then we can vote with our feet and not listen.

But I do object to public money (IE: the licence fee) being used to line his pockets. He has alienated the whole of Liverpool (blue and red) and also Scotland too. How the BBC think such a trashy journalist is worthy of air time I do not know.

People should refuse to pay the licence fee. In fact people should refuse full stop, it's an illegal tax. It's like saying if you wanna buy the Daily Mirror you have to buy The Sun first. You don't wanna read the Sun ? Tough shit, you have to buy it. Even if you only read the Daily Mirror if you don't buy the Sun as well you could be fined and even imprisoned. Sounds stupid really but it's no different. Goes against free trade laws but obviously that doesn't mean fuck all here. If BBC is so fecking good then make it subscription and people who want to watch can pay. You also get round issues like this where people who do not want their licence fee money being spent on twats like this. If it's subscription you simply cancel your subscription. Problem is with illegal TV licence you can't do that. In Scotland I think it's a civil offence and you can't be imprisoned for it, but you can in other places. Also why does the entire rest of the world get to watch BBC channels on their TV packages without paying TV licence fees ? Just remember your TV licence goes towards paying people like Mackenzie, great eh ?

I agree Alien. It is indeed a tax on people. One that goes up and up each year, while the standards in telly seem to be on a downward spiral.

They do still make some good programs (Planet Earth for example is brilliant) but on the whole I thing the BBC has got out of hand. I have lost count of how many radio and tv channels they have. And they have an enormous website too and new media content. The whole thing is a bif fucking gravy train for the BBC execs and luvvies like Jonathan Woth who gets paid around £10 million a year for a friday night chat-show.
