Arsenal arses

I always sort of liked Wenger. Well okay, he was sufferable apart from his teams horrendous disciplinary record and his chronically bad eyesite when his team had done something wrong (eeeee, i deeeed not seeee it), bettered only by his amazing eyesite when a decision went against his side.

Well okay, he was/is a cock.

But this season, he really is winning all prize arsehole prizes.

You would thing he learns his lesson when he makes a cock up. For instance, he rests Henry against Newcastle, his team end up going behind and he has to then bring him on to try and save the game. End result, his smugness sees his side drop 2 points.

So, you would think, lesson learned.

And yesterday, Arsenal at home to little bitty Pompey. So he has no Henry but the player currently takign his place, and surprising me a couple of times this season, is lanky wanky Emmanuel Adabayor. Great game against Spurs recently and he is starting to look half decent. Could do with putting on a couple of pounds though.

So its only shitty Pompey, I mean after all they are only top 6 but they are a massive 1 whole point behind the Arse. So Monsieur Smug thinks "Fuck eeet, I will rest Crazy Legs Crane for this one. Ohh and pick Le Petit Piss Aliadiere instead, that will be a real laugh on leeetle Pompey". And lo and behold he has to eat Le Pie Humble yet again as he brings him on at half time to try and rescue a game he obviously thought his team would piss beforehand. Net result, yet another 2 points lost.

Ok, I can sort of undertstand resting before a big game but do Arsenal have an important CL game midweek?? Nope, they have a game v Liverpool in a competition that he has quite publically shat all over in the last 3 seasons or so, sending out bairns in nappies to half the games.

Arsene, get it right up ya, ya smug feck.

Ohh and one more point. Emirates Stadium, capacity just over 60,000. Attendance v Pompey, just over 60,000. Number of empty seats when watching the game on Goals on Sunday, fucking loads, literally thousands. Do Arsenal have several thousand supporters who drink invisble potions before the game??

This was raised on redandwhitekop before. The sort of fans that can afford to sit 'ring-side' at the Emirates are the sort of Jester hat wearing fucks that spoil the game. They turn up 5 minutes after kick off with loads of bags from the clubs superstore, they spend the entire game on the phone to their mates going 'can you see me?', leave after 40 minutes pushing past people so they can get the hot dogs in and then at full time they leave after 85 minutes to beat the traffic.

Cunts all of them.

Crowie,
With Wenger's attitude resting of Henry / Adebayor I think it just goes through to the players, that they just need to go through the motions to get the result - it's only when they go behind that they think oh fuck this we better sort this now. Only game they've come out of the traps at home was Tottenham.

Wenger's mistake in 4-5-1 at home early on in the season that he now seems to have dropped, which with the points dropped has brought huge pressure, probably see it make a comeback for something like Man Utd & Chelsea games.

Think the one you've forgot is the embarassing I'm not shaking your hand Pardew incident, see above.

Much at I don't like to say this compare with Martin Jol's comments after the game the other week, 2 dodgy pens, he mentioned them but didn't really moan he knew that his side were never in it & didn't use them to disguise the fact. If the boot was on the other foot I think we know the reply.

Don't get me wrong Wenger's honours record for the club speaks for itself & also the style of football gains him admirers but he continually lets himself down with quotes & actions.

As for the fans, I'm 36 & I'd take a guess that the people that sit around me in the wonderfully titled green quadrant if they're roughly my age did not used to go football 15 or 20 years ago but now they feel they have to, to have something to chat to the chaps in the office on monday morning. I could go on about how football has changed for the worst in my eyes for ages - can't even bring my USA gooners flag to the ground now, what's the world coming to.

Right after all that moaning I'll go & put a couple of grounds up on the stadium thread.

AFU,
It will never happen but as a scouser with Hillsborough what would be the views on standing coming back.

All the best, Khartoum.

I would love to see it. The consensus of opinion is that terracing is safe. If the correct number of people are on the terrace, then there is no problem. If there are too many and they are unable to move because of high fences - then you have a problem.

I think Anfield would be better if they had a section of say 3000 fans behind the kop who were allowed to stand. It would concentrate the 'hard-core' support and the atmosphere would be much better.

having said that, the clubs dont want it. If I am not much mistaken, clubs are not forbidden by the Taylor Report from having terrace areas. They choose not to because they make more money from the way football is today.

They dont want a return to the days when young lads could afford to go to the match together. They want corporate sponsors, people in luxury 'club' seats who pay a premium and they want families and day trippers who spend money in the club shops and on refreshments.

The clubs themselves will not let it happen.

It's a great shame because it is killing the atmosphere at grounds, be it Sold Trafford, the Arse, Stamford Bridge and even sadly, Anfield.....

Good response Khartoum and refreshing to see a Gooner actually come out and have a go at Wengers attitude. As you say, footballing wise and honours wise he can't be faulted but he doesn't do himself any favours in other areas

Looking at it with a more sensible head on and without the French language pisstakes, your points are all correct.

It doesn't give the right message to the team leaving out either your best player or his now decent looking replacement for home league games. Yes its a squad game yada yada yada but Adebayor especially is just starting to look like he is getting into the swing of things and a decent continued run leading the attack would do him the world of good.

I can almost understand it if you were playing Watford or say Charlton. But this was Pompey FFS, no exactly anyones bitches this season. And Aliadiere?? Forgive me but I do think he is actually a fair bit short of Arsenal class.

The thing is, 4-0 game at Reading apart, where they stupidly tried to match Arsenal football wise, I don't the Arsenal have shown much this season to be able to think about fielding weakened sides. They did well against both Man Utd and Chelsea, as the undergdogs and with their minds more on containing the home side but those games aside, they aren't in anyway consistant in putting teams away. And with the lost points comes added pressure as you mention.

Re: Arsenal arses

AFU,

Unfortunately, think you're right the clubs don't want it. Nowadays, young lads just go down the pub Saturday afternoon & watch a match in there.
You're right it is a shame & sounding like an old bastard, I'm glad that I went when I did & also took my younger cousins to experience it as well.

Crowie,

I haven't been convinced by them all season to be truthful, but I've got to agree with you on Aliadiere he's hardly set the world alight when he's gone on loan & the decision to start him on Saturday really suprised me, especially with the form Adebayor's been in.

All the best, Khartoum.

Re: Arsenal arses

Been thinking this myself Crowie and that Arsene is trying his best to give them a battle to even make the CL spot nevermind challenge for the league.

The thing that strikes me is you rest your players when you have congested fixtures btu Arsenal dont. The CL is now on a break for a while. They are playing maybe 2 games a week max, if that in the league so no reason to be resting.

Carling cup game on Wednesday and these are the times players should be getting rested but the way Wengers been going he will probably put out his full strength team out

You only have to look at Chelsea and Man Utd. They are cruising away from the rest in the league and its no coincidence that they ahve been playing nearly the same line up week after week.

It also does no good for players. Look at Abedayor, coming into some great form and the last thing he wants is to be sat on the bench next game. Must be quite disheartening.
