Yes mate - as you know he's an avid Liverpool fan. As usual Liverpool played keep the ball boring bollocks but Mascherano did ok in the system. He also changed the pace of the game to create goal number four.

Certainly West Ham are twats for letting him go. I know that having watched him once.

You suggest we share it with the opposition?

Your boy saw 3 Liverpool legends scoring in a 4-0 win with a performance that totally outclassed their opponents ffs.

Nah - what I meant was Liverpool keep the ball but rarely do anything with it. It's all square passing at the back which eventually leads to very little. I would rather they try some 'things' and create a bit more - even if occasionally they lose the ball as a result.

The scoreline was utterly flattering as Liverpool only created 6 chances all game and they scored 4 of them. That said Sheff Utd didn't create much either.

I do agree with that, just a few more attempts to get the ball forward sooner would be good to see.

As a neutral spectator of a game I would agree with that statement. However as a Liverpool fan I completely disagree. The opposition cant score if they dont have the ball. If we play boring 'keep-ball' for 90 minutes then it is very difficult for teams to break us down and beat us. The 2005 CL victory in the main, was based upon this principal and I would be very happy to see us repeat it this year.

Re: Javier Mascherano to Liverpool ??

On the Mascherano front, he looked suprisingly fresh and fit. He didnt really show any signs of rusty-ness (for want of a better expression) and looked sharp. Tracked back well and looks a class act.

I see him as being a combination of Sissoko and Alonso. In that Sissoko has a lot of drive and likes a tackle but is wasteful with the ball. Alonso on the other hand is great at sitting back and picking out passes but isnt a great ball winner. Mascherano offers the best of both worlds and (at the risk of sounding like Ron Atkinson) he has a great little motor on him does the Argie.

Apparently he is also bringing out his own line in tandoori convenience snacks too, I tried one of his Argie Bhaji's and they're superb.
