Barton wins first England call-up

I wouldent call him International class and can't really see him getting a game as Gerrard, Lampard and now even Hargreaves are a class above Barton but @ least it puts a few more bob on his head if he ever moves onwhich is good for City.

What can he offer England? well he plays with his heart on his sleeve and will no doubt give it 110% if he ever gets the chance and could prove a lot more effective playing alongside Gerrard than Lampard does as he never shirks a tackle and he will allow Gerrard to push forward without tripping over each other laces as is happening @ the mo with Lampard.
But then again hargreaves has shown he can do it just aswell if not better as he posseses a bigger engine allthough Barton is better in front of goal than Hargreaves.

Barton I suppose will do a job if needed and prove ideal backup if anything happens to the main central midfielders, he won't let anybody down but he will have to watch his temperament.

I think you either under-rate him or over-rate the "international class" Slick.

Granted he's more 90% perspiration and 10% inspiration but the same could have been said of Stuart Pearce and he was one of the finest England players to pull a shirt on in my opinion.

A team is all about a blend of players and Barton will do well.

If someone could explain to me (and Muze is excepted from this task as he's a biased bastard ) why the fuck anyone would thing that that useless cunt Phil Neville is (or ever was) England class then I'd be eternally grateful.

Re: Barton wins first England call-up

As i said ODM he'll give 110% just like Pearce did, neither were(are) in my opinion International class and probably a reason we never win anything but we do like triers.

Like Pearce, Barton is a go at em type of player and will win a ball then release it staight away but thats about it, class players win a ball then hold onto it and look up to see whats going on then make a judgement as to pass, hold or go on a run.

Pearce was head down and just run down the left at full pelt, ok he could also take free kicks but then again so can Roberto Carlos but they are worlds apart playing wise.

Every team team needs grafters i agree but you need more than that to go on and win things at International level, you need players that are comfortable on the ball without looking to release as soon as they can as they don't have the ability to hold onto it.

Fair enough if we have players around them with that ability as they can then win the ball and release but we don't and in general we have better overall footballers in central midfield than Barton.

I love it when ure pissed m8 @ least the bald headed french twat had sophistication.

Can u remember the other not so bald headed french twat who butted pearce and decked him during what i'm sure was a either a WC or Euro finals game and never got so much as a booking.

I'm sure his name also sounded like Baldy as does the guy who plays for Celtic but i'm sure it wasent him.
