West Ham Doomed

Quote:
The Premier League has charged West Ham with breaching their rules in relation to the signings of Argentine duo Carlos Tevez and Javier Mascherano in August.

Tevez and Mascherano joined the club in August, but their registration with third party Media Sports Investment may have broken Premier League regulations.

The Premiership strugglers, who are deep in the relegation zone, could be deducted points if found guilty.

The Hammers have announced they will "vigorously defend" themselves. A points deduction would almost certainly condemn West Ham to the Championship - they currently sit 19th in the table, nine points adrift of safety.
Now im sure many of us were certain they would go down although they were still in with a chance but this points deduction will certainly put them down.

Interesting to see how they go about their business if they do.

Surely players like Boa Morte, Neill etc wouldve gt relegation release clauses in contract. Dont think the Hammers would fancy paying them their wages anyways.

I like many think Curbishley was probably the man to get them out of trouble. And since the Man U win, wtf has happened? Obviously it depends on who they keep (Curbs being one of them), but they should come straight back up if they keep the backbone of their squad.

....which is unlikely IMO.

The thing is - would they want to keep the backbone of the team as it has looked like a bunch of heartless bastards with no fight what so ever.

Remember the Man Utd win - they seem to be a team that like to raise their level for the big games but arent interesed in the dogfight with the rest.

I can't fathom why this has happened. Were they really a bad side all along that achieved well above themselves last season? Don't think so. There were some classy perfomances throughout. Is it the Argentine connection? Don't think so. Can two players really upset the morale of a side when they can barely speak English?

Or maybe is it the Scandinavian connection? Hmm, not enough imo to suggest a complete U-turn in form and team ethic, however the release of Pardew and the apparant '3 matches to save your job' towards Curbishley is hardly going to improve matters. Nor is the now more imminent points deduction.

It could well get worse before it gets better. Leeds look like they're nowhere near it.

Nice to see Pardew doing the buisness at Charlton...

I suppose the gang of players that got him kicked out will walk out on the Hammers when ( not if ) they are relegated......

It is. I think (as well as a lot of WH supporters I reckon) that Pardew got a raw deal from the current board. Also the fact that they bring players into a pretty settled squad doesn't do much for morale as I mentioned earlier.

Charlton showed some bottle today, albeit against bottom side Watford and thats what you NEED in this division.

Re: West Ham Doomed

It all went tits up for Pardew when the Argies landed , i dont think he wanted them.

Its a shame , in the 70`s i was a bit of a Hammers fan , big Clive Best and Billy Bonds and the like , they must be turning in there grave , er , if they were dead that is ........

The new owner must be thinking " what the f**k "

I'm forever blowing bubbles,
Pretty bubbles in the air,
They fly so high,
Nearly reach the sky,
Then like my dreams,
They fade and die.
Fortune's always hiding,
I've looked everywhere,
I'm forever blowing bubbles,
Pretty bubbles in the air.

And I still belive that Hammers can stay in Premier League
