Bolton Clinch Nakata Loan Deal Signing

Quote:
Bolton manager Sam Allardyce has clinched the loan signing of Japan midfielder Hidetoshi Nakata, subject to international clearance.
The 28-year-old Fiorentina star, who has played in Italy for the last six years, will move to the Reebok Stadium on a season-long loan deal.

Allardyce told Bolton's website: "I'm pleased the deal is sorted. His medical was fine and we now have a work permit.
Could turn out to be a fantastic signing for Allardyce depending on how hungry Nakata is still as his performances have been very dissapointing his last 2 seasons in Italy.

Might be the creative flair they have been lacking as Okocha hasn't been at his best last season.

Not sure when he will make his debut due to his fitness levels etc though.

Re: Bolton Clinch Nakata Loan Deal Signing

In all the times I have seen him playing, from his first season in Italy, through the WC in Japan/Korea I have to admit I have never understood the fuss about him. I can't really remember him ever having a stand out game.

An interesting signing for Bolton though, Allardyce seems to keep on collecting players who 5 seasons ago you could never have seen in a Bolton shirt. Wether they all do a good job however is a different matter.

Okocha could be on his way to Qatar (or somewhere middle-eastern), Bolton are not happy as it seems he has been tapped up.

Yeah Crowie, he is a player who never actually managed the heights his potential showed.

But with Allardyce you have a manager who seems to have a habit of getting players who aren't as good as they once were back to the level they should be.

Hope it does work out for them both as Nakata on his day is a great player to watch. Only time will tell.

Interesting transfer, though really its another foreign flop coming to have a last pop at making it. Big Sam would have been nothing without Sky Sports and Easyjet. A few years back, this sort of thing wouldnt have been possible because football didnt get the exposure it does nowadays. Big Sam can scout people from his own front room, book it pack it fuck off to Italy and come home armed with a Nip.
