F.C United

Well it looks like some of the Old Trafford lunatics are serious.
The newly founded club called .....F.C United played its first match on saturday against Leek CSOB. ( who they ? )

The funniest part of it was that the match kick off was delayed so they could watch the real United play Everton on Sky

Not a bad crowd ( 2500 ) ....reports of singing at the match , unlike Old Trafford.
Four english pounds to get in and seventy pence for a pie , seems like good value imo.

A feeble publicity stunt ? Or will they take off ?

Re: F.C United

I reckon it will take off. Lets face it, pubs are full of people who would love to go to the match for the craic, have a sing song on the coach and a few tins but cant afford to these days. United play in korea, spain, japan, america - just about everywhere - and you have to have loads of Yen to follow them about.

Its so bloody expensive to follow them home and away these days that its really out of reach for most people, bar those who make massive sacrifices to do it. I think a more local type of football, where you can get a bus to an away game rather than Easyjet has a lot going for it. A few pints of mild, a 30 mile round trip and a decent pie does it for me..... Thats why I am starting to follow Gateshead.

Costs me a tenner for a pie, program and a pint in Anfield. I could do the whole match on a tenner at the Intenational Stadium FFS!!!

Good luck to the scumbags I say, hope they all get food poisoning and die a painful death, but the ttheory behind it is good.....

Re: F.C United

For anyone interested in all this FC United business you should check out the latest edition of 4-4-2 magazine. Nice little article in there about it.

Only 9 divisions they are from the Premiership. With gates like that and the effort the fans are putting in there you could see them getting up near the conference in a good few seasons.

That would be if the novelty didn't wear off. The trouble is, most Man U fans are used to instant glory. It won't last.

Re: F.C United

Yeah i suppose your right.

I would much rather support a side that had a genuine chance of going up season after season. Would be real buzz for me. Unfortunately theres no chance up here in Aberdeen as there is no relegation from the Scot's Division 3 which is a shame.
