Yep- It's not that he can't learn it's just that he doesn't see why he should HAVE to learn and that's even worse.

Re: Rooney pledges to curb his temper

Rooney should enjoy himself whilst he can still play football. Without football he doesn't exactly have alot going for him. It's not like he is good looking or funny. He comes across as a total wanker really so I don't think he'd win any popularity contests either. How many people would want to know wayne rooney in a non-football context ? Not many I would guess.

Re: Rooney pledges to curb his temper

Rio Ferdinand does not see any need for Wayne Rooney to clean up his act - he loves the fiery Manchester United striker just the way he is.

Article was on the sporting life site.

Well said Rio , no doubt Rooney was a great help starting to run the bath for the rest of the lazy buggers that decided to .....dare i say it ? ....Stay on the pitch and play football ....Stiil who would take advice from someone who cant even urinate in a beaker ?

Re: Rooney pledges to curb his temper

Gazza was very similar in his early yrs though not with officials, He ruined his career with a challenge (well assault) Rooney is more than capable of and if he doesent curb it he'll ruin his own or somebody elses the same way.

Re: Rooney pledges to curb his temper

Guys I'll admit I haven't read all your comments as I can see what the thread is about and I only care about my opinion anyway.

Here it is.

Who cares (except Man Utd fans) what the pug faced little shit does until it gets to Germany 2006? I know I don't. As long as he wins England the World Cup (which in my opinion he could do) then I really don't care about anything else.

Permission to carry on.

19 years old, £50,000 or whatever a week; it's not surprising he thinks he's God.
I'm past giving the benefit of the doubt. This guy will probably fall to media pressure eventually but the sad thing is we'll adore him, keep his pockets full and feed his ego as long as he carries on doing what he does best.

Until he goes over the edge.
Frankly, I couldn't care less whether he does it before or after the World Cup.

Thing is Gett1n - the way things are looking just now England wont win the World Cup and it wouldnt surprise me if Rooney goes some way to this happening by getting a silly red card in a quarter final or something.

You wouldve thought that Keane wouldve done something about it by now. He obviously isn't the great captain we all thought he was if this is the case and he is unable to control a youngster at his team.

Then again you have to wonder who would actually be able to control him?

I agree with the point AFU said i thnk it was about when i was 19 yrs old and my friends aswell, we could all piss about acting like knobs but as soon as we were in our work we would all be sensible mature young men. You'd think Rooney would have the sense to follow suit.

I think he isn't going to wise up until he ends up breaking somebodys leg in a bad challenge. If it was someone that he really looked up to as a football, say Henry, i think this would be the kick up the arse he needs. Hopefully it wouldnt come to this though.

Re: Rooney pledges to curb his temper

kiko - people say that if you take the aggression out of Rooney's game - you spoil him as a player. I dont see it this way, I dont see him as being an aggressive, imposing player. I just think he is a little cnut. The sort of twat that would hang around the shops at night drinking lambrini and smashing up bus stops.

I dont think it will come to the stage where he'll break someone's leg because I dont think he is an aggressive player. He isnt like Roy Keane and he doesnt give people a good whack every so often. He acts like a child and does silly childish things.

I think the turning point will come when Rooney finally realises he id being a dick. I would say the turning point for Beckham was being sent off by Nielsen for tripping that Argy cnut Simeone in the World Cup. Being a hate figure must have brought the enormousityof the situation home.

The problem with Rooney is that everyone rallies round and says what a great kid he is and how we should over look his moments of madness because he is only young. If someone doesnt set him straight, he will carry on in the same fashion. He needs to be taught a lesson and be brought back down to earth.
