Rooney pledges to curb his temper

Rooney pledges to curb his temper

The comments in bold are mine.

"I have learnt a lot and I have matured a lot, both on and off the field.
No you haven’t

"I want to make sure I don't get booked for dissent. Every player does it
No they don’t

but it gets highlighted a lot more because of who I am."
Fair enough, I’ll give you that one

He added: “I’m looking to cut out the silly bookings”
No you won’t because you’re a fat spoilt prick who is surrounded by people who haven’t got the balls to upset you by telling you to stop being a knob.

Believe it when i see it.

You can see the intent and anger still in his face when things don't go his way.

Re: Rooney pledges to curb his temper

Which ref is gonna be brave enough to enforce the new rules to do with dissent ?

It would probably only take one high profile player to be sent off for the rest of the pampered toss pots to get there act together.
Anyway , back to Rooney , i honestly dont think he will ever change , he will be a liability at Internationa level aswell.
The red mist descends and he,s away with it , was it Spain in a friendly when he was lucky not to be sent off ?

Re: Rooney pledges to curb his temper

Well ............He,s done it again....
Not content with his mental performance in the last international match , he decides to be a dickhead again tonight.....

Wayne Rooney was sent off in front of watching England boss Sven-Goran Eriksson as Manchester United earned a Champions League draw at Villarreal.

Rooney was dismissed by referee Kim Milton Nielsen in the 63rd minute for ironically applauding the official after being shown a yellow card.

Still its nice to see that Rudolph ( Fergie ) thinks he deserved to be sent off , will wonders never cease ....Ferguson said: "I don't think he gave himself a chance. You can't applaud the referee like that.

"The referee may have picked his prey giving Wayne a yellow card, but I think he had no choice with the red."

Ferguson added: "At first I thought it was for touching the referee, but it was obviously for applauding him. We have had disappointments with Kim Milton Nielsen before and we have to handle that.

"He's 19 years of age and a fiery character. He's competitive and when he sees that, he can see there is a problem if he reacts like that.

"Wayne is a young lad and we hope with maturity these things will evaporate.

Er i dont think so , the guys gonna be a laibility as long as he puts a pair of football boots on.....

Re: Rooney pledges to curb his temper

He was VERY stupid last night but I have to put one thing in his defence. He's only 19 years old. Anyone here remember how mature and grown up we were when we were 19? Didn't do anything stupid? Fair enough we weren't earning £50k a week to be mature and grown up but still, at times, Rooney will do silly things. Like last night.

If he is still doing them at 23/24/25+ then he's a total knob but for now I will excuse him the odd blip due to his age.

Re: Rooney pledges to curb his temper

But I still had to behave properly at work when I was 19 and that's all he's being asked to do.

Also, my stupid actions at 19 weren't liable to cost a business (Man Utd) millions of pounds are a result of them. They are paying him a lot of money and if they were to miss out of progression in the CL because he's a twat....

Re: Rooney pledges to curb his temper

I know, ODM, yes he was an @rse, yes he should behave properly at his work and yes the difference between him misbehaving at work and the possible repurcussions and me, you or any joe public misbehaving are quite significantly different.

I don't really know where I am going with this apart from saying that his age must be some mitigating factor in his random acts of stupidity. If he is still doing the same at 25 or so on then I can't see any defence, at the moment, there is a slight one. Although only very slight!!

Re: Rooney pledges to curb his temper

the problem is that whether 19 or 29 - wayne rooney is a cnut. All be it a very talented cnut and when in an England shirt I will applaud him of course. But age has nothing to do with it.

Michael Owen didnt do it at that age, Rooney does. There will always be scallies and hot heads and Rooney is both. I just cant see him maturing in to a calm person like Beckham or a thinker like Southgate - he is and will always be a gifted moron.

Agreed.

Did you see the look of utter contempt on his face when clapping the referee? It was like "how dare you book me, do you know who I am?" Someone needs to have a very strong word with him quickly. Just who does he think he is? Pathetic really. Maybe you could excuse it, but the fact he was going mad in the match just before this one (against Northern Ireland), just shows he is too thick and moronic to want to learn.

It doesn't take too much to take notice of all the people telling you to calm down. He's just choosing not to as he thinks the whole world revolves around him.
