Re: Karl-Heinz Rumour Mill
Absolutely Rene, this place is my little Liverpool domain, with the odd dash of other news. To be honest, because we're the biggest club in the world, we're the only thing worth talking about.

Manchester United's summer shopping spree is set to continue with a move for Bolton striker Nicolas Anelka. (Mirror)
And while one striker comes into Old Trafford, another could be on his way out. Tottenham want England international Alan Smith. (Sun)
West Ham are lining up a £5m bid for Joey Barton. They want to pair him with fellow midfield target Scott Parker. (Daily Star)
France international midfielder Florent Malouda has begged club Lyon not to price him out of a move to Liverpool. The French champions want £17m. (Daily Mail)

I think Man U need another striker. They got Larsson on loan and relied on an ageing Solskjaer towards the end of the season. They surely cant do that this year. Anelka however would be an interesting move - he's one of those players that could bang in 25 goals and be a revelation or decide not to play and become a trappist monk.
There's no telling what that lad's mental state is and therefore its hard trying to figure out how he will actually play. Also, I dont like what I see as being the meddling influence of his brothers. Dont think they do him or his club any good.

This could yet prove to be an interesting one:

Manchester United's signing of Anderson is set to be probed by the Premier League for fear of a Carlos Tevez affair Mark II. (Mirror)

According to the Mirror, this lad has an agreement with a company called Globay Sports Investment and there's a concern that there could be third party involvement like Tevez.
Surely Man U wouldnt be that stupid as to fall into the Tevez trap.

From today's AS newspaper in Spain, dont have to be Spanish to understand the gist of the article:

Re: Karl-Heinz Rumour Mill
Its funny reading articles and trying to decipher a player's "true" value. The other day it was Eto'o and £17m for Henry. Now Eto'o himself is valued at 60m Euro or £40m sterling.
That would give Henry an approximate value of £57m going off the newspaper talk....
The crazy world of Arthur Brown.....

El Mundo are also carrying the Eto'o story today as well. According to them we have 100m EURO to spend on players this summer.
Yippee!

Sky Sports News reports that a fee has been agreed between the two clubs.
It is not known whether that will involve West Ham's Nigel Reo-Coker moving in the opposite direction, but his agent commented in The Sun this morning that such a deal would be welcomed by Reo-Coker.
"If Sam said he wanted to speak, Nigel would be on the train in a shot. It would be very interesting to see what his plans are for Newcastle," said Tony Finnegan, who represents the 23-year-old.

Re: Karl-Heinz Rumour Mill
I think Anelka going to United will prove a masterstroke by Fergie, they've been longing for an out and out striker for yrs with a bit of pace and he is a top class finisher.
It will also take a bit of pressure off Rooney who will no longer have to run like fcuk to keep up with Ronaldo and leave him to do his own thing.
Replace Micah Richards for Neville , Pederson for Giggs and Riquelme for Scholes as they are getting a bit old in the tooth and i'd have United nailed on for the title next yr and a great crack at the Champs League.

Re: Karl-Heinz Rumour Mill
Fowler to Celtic?
Can't say i would be too enthusiastic about that. Yes he would score a barrel load in Scotland but i would rather his wages were invested in a striker who would do it on the CL stage.
Celtic have players who have been in the top goalscorers bracket the last few seasons in the SPL such as Killen, Riordan and McDonald.
What they are lacking is that class act for Europe.
Waste on Fowler imo

Re: Karl-Heinz Rumour Mill
Had to laugh at the Jeffers bid from Blackburn.
When are the EPL clubs going to realise he is an over rated terrible player? He has had countless chances to do the business and failed everytime bar his first season wtih Everton.
Championship level could be the level he is at, if that.

Re: Karl-Heinz Rumour Mill
As you say Jeffers is by the board now and i'm surprised anybody would seem interested in him.
Fowler may be worth a gamble as he's been fit for a while now and looked pretty sharp when he left City 12 months ago but he was never going to get a decent run at Liverpool, he may be to old for the prem now mind considering the pace it is now played at and Celtic may get a decent 12 months out of him but i'd be surprised if they showed interest in him as it would be a bit of a gamble and his wages won't be cheap.
