Re: Karl-Heinz Rumour Mill

Aye i put the wrong side in.

Van Der Meyde set to sign for Everton. Never really rated this guy as a player to be honest. Had potential but was never consistent enough for me.

Everton have signed Roma's Italy defender Matteo Ferrari on a one-year loan deal with a view to a £3.7m permanent signing next summer
Can't say i know anything about Ferrari. Been to a decent level of clubs so he must have some quality about him.

Aye Chris, I work for the Daily Sport in my spare time....Thought I would ave it before the Sun does...

As for transfer news, something I noticed before - Igor Tudor going on loan to Bolton. Big Sam does it once again, he must have a fantastic network of scouts and men with their ears to the ground around Europe. The cheap buys and freebies he gets are fab. Is he Jewish...?

Portugal defender Nuno Valente has joined Everton from FC Porto for £1.5m.
The 30-year-old left-back flew to London on Saturday and has agreed a three-year contract with the Toffees and passed a medical on Sunday.
Very good signing IMO. Was great in the european championships for Portugal and continued that for Porto also in their European cup winning season.

Seems to have fallen out of favour at Porto after fall out with manager. Should work out a good signing for Everton.

Still feel they are a bit weak attacking wise and this is where tey should be looking to strenghten though.

Re: Karl-Heinz Rumour Mill

Now, don't shoot the messenger here, but this is coming from the a bloke with very reliable contacts at St James...

1) Solano will re-sign for NUFC tomorrow, apparently for a fee of around £1.5m (ie what Villa paid for him).

2) Jenas will be unveiled as a Spurs player tomorrow aswell.

Lets see what happens.....

Anyone else got any more transfer news?

Any more Rangers fans around? Well, apparently we are in talks to bring Julius Agahowa (sp?) to Ibrox on a 1 year loan deal. What a signing that would be...

Sounds like Newcastle may have some financial worries, Luque nor Baros would of cost a huge amount in transfer fee's or wages. They were bluffing about Owen as they knew that he wouldn't sign anyway.

Re: Karl-Heinz Rumour Mill

Alex,

Looks like your getting the big Greek boy, Soto, back and we are about to sign "Scooby" Du Wei as he has now been given a work permit.

I thought any strikers coming into Rangers were dependent on Michael Ball being shifted of the wage bill - and Trevor Steven, his agent, has said he is going nowhere.

Re: Karl-Heinz Rumour Mill

As much as I hate to say it, I can see Solano leaving Villa tomorrow

Its been in the pipeline & reading between the lines it could be a goer. Theres a strong feeling on the Villa boards that O'Leary is in for Eirik Bakke from his old club Leeds, possibly on a years loan due to his injury record, with a view to a permanent transfer. He can play on the right obviously so it does make sense.
Weve also been linked with Gabi, Miccolli, Jagielka, Lescott & David Bentley....time will tell

Re: Karl-Heinz Rumour Mill

Yeah, the move (Aghahowa) is dependent on either Lovenkrands or Ball being moved on. Both deals looked dead, however I have been told from a good source that at least one of them will be shipped out today. Most probably Ball to Birmingahm City, if that falls through again then Lovenkrands may join Boro as cover for Downing who is out injured.

Robbie Fowler has been strongly linked, and some people say he has been seen at Rangers training ground (I don't think this to be true).

Aghahowa deal is still on as long as we lose 1 more player.

Yeah, we got the Greek back, don't know what to make of that really. Now we have 4 good quality centre backs. I suspect we will start to play 3 at the back (like we did away to Famagusta).

Heard about the Du Wei deal, seems like it will go through later, £850,000, not too bad, although I don't know anything about the guy. Is Balde going to leave to make way fro him?

As I said yesterday, Jenas has now moved to Spurs, and Solano will definately sign for NUFC later today.

Last I heard Newcastle said the Solano deal was dead in the water, but I'll check. I was right about Bakke though, loan deal until january

Re: Karl-Heinz Rumour Mill

Liverpool are about to sign Sabrosa from Benfica for between 7 & 10 million, he plays on the right wing which is good as they might fcuk off & leave Solano alone........

As they happened so far.......

5.42pm: Ian Holloway has bolstered his midfield with a double swoop for former Hoops star Richard Langley, and Steve Lomas. Langley returns from Cardiff, while Lomas has quit West Ham.
5.01pm: Bolton chairman has pulled the plug on Fabrice Fernandes's proposed transfer from Southampton for financial reasons. The Frenchman, who hasn't been issued with a squad number at St Mary's this season, now faces a lengthy spell in the reserves until the transfer window reopens.

Article continues

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

4.59pm: Some frantic afternoon phone calls from Dave Jones have secured Cardiff a new striker: Michael Ricketts. Jones saw Wycombe reject a £300,000 offer for Nathan Tyson, before agreeing to take the one-time England striker off Leeds's hands on a loan deal until December 31.
4.56pm: Dragan Mladenovic's less-than-successful spell at Ibrox has been brought to an end, with Red Star Belgrade agreeing to take the midfielder on a three-year deal. "Money is not the most important issue for me. I was financially satisfied with the Rangers, but I want to play," said Mladenovic, who made six first-team appearances for Alex McLeish's side.

4.53pm: Dutch international winger Andy van der Meyde has signed a four-year deal with Everton. "I am happy I can play for Everton because it is such a nice club and I hope I can show my football again because it has been a long time for me," said Van der Meyde, who has completed a move from Internazionale for an undisclosed fee.

4.40pm: Generous Charlton supporters have helped fund the purchase of Icelandic starlet Rurik Gislason from HK Kopavogur. Seventeen-year-old Gislason could eventually cost £180,000 - partially paid for by the Addicks' Valley Gold scheme - and has previously appeared on the radars of Ajax, Bayern Munich and PSV Eindhoven.

4.26pm: Loan ranger David Bentley looks like he's stuck with Arsenal, as chairman David Dein is unwilling to let the winger join Crystal Palace on a non-cash arrangement. But Portsmouth hope to have found success after agreeing a deal for young Barcelona midfielder Frank Songo'o.

4.04pm: Runaway Scottish Premierleague leaders Hearts have added Brazilian Samuel Almeida Camazzola to their squad. "We have said all along that to qualify for Europe we need to add depth in certain areaas of the squad and this is a signing which does that," said Jambos manager George Burley, after completing a season-long loan for the Juventude midfielder.

3.34pm: Confirmation of David Connolly's move to Wigan from Leicester, as a £2m agreement, which could rise to £3m, is officially revealed. "Wigan Athletic is a forward-thinking and ambitious club, with a great manager," said Connolly, who is surely aware that boss Paul Jewell has been desperate to offload £600,000 for weighty 36-year-old Dean Windass in recent weeks.

3.28pm: It has long flummoxed observers as to why Arsène Wenger can't sign a decent goalkeeper. His latest move to fill the chasm between the sticks, well - you decide: it's Mart Poom. Sunderland's Estonian custodian has moved to Highbury on loan until the end of 2005, with the option to extend the agreement. Going the other way is Gunners defensive utility player Justin Hoyte, 20, on a season-long loan.

2.47pm: The £17m raised by Michael Owen's sale hasn't burnt a hole in Real Madrid's pockets for long - the men from the Bernabéu have ploughed the exact same fee back into Sevilla defender Sergio Ramos, matching the club's buy-out clause in the 19-year-old's contract.

2.35pm: With midfielders coming out of his ears, it was inevitable that Martin Jol would have to start cutting the odd one loose here or there. Reto Ziegler is the latest man out of White Hart Lane's revolving door, switching to Bundesliga side Hamburg on loan for the remainder of the season. "He had a strong season for us but he now needs to play more games," said Jol. "He is a young lad and I have agreed with Reto that it will be good for him to go away and get more experience, but he is still a player for our future." Meanwhile, Spurs reserve team goalkeeper Robert Burch has joined Bristol City for an initial one-month loan spell.

2.17pm: The transfer knock-on effect is kicking into gear: as David Connolly is heading to Wigan, Leicester have agreed a fee of £500,000 - which could rise to £750,000 - with Tranmere to sign Canadian forward Ian Hume; Rovers have already moved to fill the gap with the acquisition of Delroy Facey from Oldham.

2.14pm: Eirik Bakke (remember him?) is poised for a return to the Premiership with Aston Villa, who are prepared to take the Norwegian on loan until the end of the season. The player's agent, Rune Hauge, said: "Eirik is going to Villa. He will be loaned out until January. Then we will see what will happen. We are working on the final details now."

1.57pm: After farming out Azar Karadas on loan to Portsmouth, Benfica have given Pompey fans further cause to boo by pipping Alain Perrin to the loan signing of Juventus striker Fabrizio Miccoli.

1.38pm: As suspensions have already started to take their toll on Blackburn, Mark Hughes has moved to swell his defence by clasping defender Zhurab Khizanishvili from Rangers on loan.

1.09pm: Club Bruges sporting director Marc Degryse says the Belgian champions have agreed a loan deal for Real Madrid winger Javier Portillo.

12.16pm: If there was any doubt about Joseph Desiré Job's finanical security, it has been dispelled by the news that he has left Middlesbrough to sign a cashalicious 12-month loan contract with Saudi side Al Ittahad.

12.14pm: After refusing to pay big for Michael Owen, Liverpool are set to splurge £10m on Benfica winger Simao Sabrosa, an expensive flop at Barcelona four seasons ago.

12.03pm: Hertha Berlin have beaten the throngs to the signature of Red Star Belgarde striker Marko Pantelic. Only on a season-long loan, mind.

12.01pm Middlesbrough defender Michael Reiziger is to spurn a move to AZ Alkmaar in favour of a PSV, who are eager to replace Lee Young-pyo.

11.46am: After loaning their record signing out to Marseille last season, Fulham have let Wolfsburg take £11.5m flop Steve Marlet off their hands for another season.

11.29am: Chesterfield have borrowed midfielder Sammy Clingan from Wolves.

11.10am: Fulham midfielder Darren Pratley will see how the other half of London lives, after agreeing a season-long loan deal with Brentford.

11.01am: Graeme Souness's relentless bigging-up of Jermaine Jenas has paid off: Spurs have paid £8m for the 22 year-old midfielder who couldn't get into the Newcastle side at times last season.

10.59am: Spurs have sold defender Erik Edman to French strugglers Rennes, who've conceded 13 goals in five league games so far this season. The Swede may be replaced may by PSV Eindhoven's South Korean defender Lee Young-pyo, whose agent claims he has agreed a deal after the player passed a medical at White Hart Lane yesterday. "As soon as Lee receives a work visa he will have an official ceremony to mark his joining the team," said agent Chin Sung-won.
