Alliadierre to West Ham

Quote:
Arsenal striker Jeremie Aliadiere has completed his loan move to West Ham after leaving Celtic.
The 22-year-old Frenchman made two substitute appearances for Celtic but has now signed for West Ham for the rest of the season.

"He had several offers from several other Premiership clubs, so we are delighted that he chose West Ham," boss Alan Pardew told the club website.

"His abilities and skill will fit in well with the playing style here."

The French U21 international joined the Gunners in 1999, making his first-team debut in the League Cup in 2002 and his Premiership debut at Anfield the following year.

"The signing of Jeremie is another big coup for the Club. He is an exciting young talent from Arsenal and along with David Bellion will bring some French flair to our squad," said Pardew.
Only found this out this morning. Strachan is doing himself no favours by things like this.

The guy you have to feel sorry for, think it was something like 50 minutes play he got at Celtic which is a total joke and wasn't giving a chance at the club.

And to think we paid something in the region of half a million for him.

I know Beattie and Maloney have done well but you have to give the guy a chance. I mean he scored a good few goals in reserve matches and got himself a hat trick in one game so it makes you wonder how he hasn't been giving a proper chance when Zurawski has been playing week in week out.

Personally, I think Aliadiere was Celtic's best player, but Strachan wasn't clever enough to use him. Whether something went on in private that no one knows about, who knows.

To come on as a substitute a couple of times in the chaos against Artmedia Bratislava for a total of 27 minutes before being got rid of, seems unfair on him. He is a much better player than Maloney or Beattie ever will be and will go on to prove it over the next few years.

Celtic's loss in the end

Personally I'm delighted he has left Celtic but only cos I'm a Gers man. From the first game of the season I've been astounded that he hasn't been used. I liked his quote that when Strachan put Adam Virgo in the Old Firm game he thought to himself 'this guys taking the piss'

Re: Alliadierre to West Ham

IMO I was surprised he turned up at Celtic in the first place. Considering Strachan paid cash for Zurawaski then he is always likely to be a pick him in front of a loan player. I said when he signed on that he was 4th choice at best for a starting position yet him, and Wenger, both came out with the "he is going to play regularly at Celtic" comments. Strange that they feel they are picking the Celtic side ahead of Strachan.

The guy may be something special in the next couple of seasons but no one knows. He might also just end up being a pile of pish. I doubt anyone has seen him play enough to actually pass judgement on how good, or not, he may actually be.

The final thing I find strange is that Wenger is obviously happy to let him go on loan despite Arsenal not exactly having many hot shot strikers (Henry apart) who are sticking the ball in the net at the moment. Maybe Wenger doesn't think he is quite good enough either.

Nice to have you here Bluejay, shame about your team though And with that I will depart before you mention last weekends game
