In the two most crucial games he did his stuff. For one thing he actually hauled them into the knockout stages with the goal and overall performance v Olympiakos. Its a silly award and I can't think of anyone of the top of my head who deserves it but if it was entitled "Europes One Man Team" then he would win it hands down.
Do you have a list of these "several other players who were far better and more important than him" then Kiko?
