Lawro's EPL Predictions

Quote:
By Mark Lawrenson
BBC Sport football expert

All kick-offs 1500 BST unless stated.

Saturday

West Brom v Birmingham
1215

Full match preview
It's a shame this big derby is being played so early in the season, I think it loses some of its edge. Some punters are still on holiday while their team is playing their bitter rivals!

I think Birmingham are a decent team who have had a bad start and they will come away with a point.

Verdict: 1-1

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Aston Villa v Blackburn

Full match preview
I fancy Villa to win this, with a fit Milan Baros lifting the crowd against a Blackburn team which already seems to get a player sent off every week.

I really do think Baros could be the deciding factor in this fixture.

Verdict: 2-0

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Fulham v Everton

Full match preview
All parts of Fulham's team will have to be working well if they are to win - and their season will hinge on how often they can play to their maximum potential.

Although Everton played well and were unlucky in the Champions League qualifying defeat by Villarreal, who are a really good side, I think a draw away from home is likeliest here.

Verdict: 1-1

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Man City v Portsmouth

Full match preview
You cannot walk over City with Stuart Pearce in charge and he has them playing with the bit between their teeth.

Portsmouth could not finish off 10-man Aston Villa and I think they will struggle for goals this season. They are also weak defensively.

Verdict: 2-1

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tottenham v Chelsea

Full match preview
Tottenham have made a good start to the season but this test will prove too tough for them, especially as Chelsea seem to have the Indian sign over them.

Chelsea are strong, fast, physical, skilful and adaptable - and I'm sure they will win this one.

Verdict: 0-2

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

West Ham v Bolton

Full match preview
This will be a difficult task for West Ham as Bolton are a different phenomenon in the Premiership, being so difficult to play against, particularly from set-pieces.

It will be West Ham's 'academy of football' versus big, strong, athletic, organised Bolton.

Verdict: 1-1

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Wigan v Sunderland

Full match preview
These two promoted sides will both see this as their best chance to get their first three points of the season.

And I think it will be Wigan who get the victory in a match full of endeavour with lots of perspiration but little inspiration.

Verdict: 2-1

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sunday

Middlesbrough v Charlton
1330

Full match preview
Charlton have made a good start and Middlesbrough haven't been too bad - I think there will be a few goals in this one.

I think Charlton have goals in their midfield with Alexei Smertin and Danny Murphy, while Mark Viduka is in form for Boro.

Verdict: 2-2

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Newcastle v Man Utd
1600

Full match preview
The best Newcastle can hope for is a draw, they still haven't scored a goal and have only one point from three games.

However, United have come from back from their Champions League match in Hungary with one or two injuries.

Verdict: 1-1
Be interesting to see how he does. I liked the BBC expert part

He being serious?

Re: Lawro's EPL Predictions

good one Komp

Eh Lawro got two correct scores right.

Man City 2-1 would be available at 10/1
Chelsea 2-0 would be available at 7/1

1pt on all correct scores would leave you with 12pts profit!

A punt on who he thinks will win would leave you with around +0.2pts on average.

So Lawro makes a 12.2pts profit at 1pt per bet this weekend. I wish he'd stop with the awful jokes though.

Maybe you should look into this bollocks thoery ODM.
