Is it a bird? Is is a plane? No its a bandwagon... Jump On!

The jocks have won, looks like the Irish may scrape a draw - not even the fact that Wales got beaten is enough to stop the furrore that will ensure tomorrow.

I am not a big fan of the old 'sack the swede' campaign..but this is dross

1) Gerrard off for Defoe.....................?

2) Lampard off for Hargreaves........................................ ......?

3) Rooney on the left wing.............................................. ...................?

Is this twat after a pay off or what? Why didnt he wear a tartan tie to boot. Bet he's thinking "i am gonna fuck you up and get a pay off you english twats"

Give Ireland their dues, errr what dues? We have been awful, but mad too. Cant see what his gameplan is. 2 men that can change a game taken off. We already have 2 great strikers on...the problem is nothing to do with the strikers but the formation and the lack of wide men.....

Sven Sven Sven, whats your crack pal?

Beat me to posting something similar up.

Wright is a legend. He speaks from the heart and i completely agree with what he says about replacing Sven with an Englishman. It has worked wonders for Scotland with the passion they were lacking under Vogts being restored with Smith in charge.

A similar thing would happen with England i think.

Sven when you think hasnt done much different others would to be honest. But he makes bizarre subs, formation etc. He will never be anything other than a quarter final manager IMO.

Beckham getting a right grilling by the commentator guy just now.

swoop - if he had got it wrong for 75 mins and made changes then that one thing. But he made some astonishing changes at the end. I just couldnt believe what the deal was, I just cant put into words how baffled I am by the whole thing...

I was laughing at the end because it was so terrible and the crowd singing at the end had made me smile for them. I cant be bitter because its just comical and fair play to northern ireland, they won.

Well, when we (Scotland) had a clueless manager in charge we were labelled as shite so in my book England are shite until they prove otherwise. Shite, shite, shite. See how you's like it.

Re: Is it a bird? Is is a plane? No its a bandwagon... Jump On!

Despite Sven's cluelessness, England will qualify for the World Cup, and also qualified for Euro 2004 and the World Cup in 2002.

Where were Scotland at any of these tournaments? Will Scotland be in Germany next year? Maybe some of the players will be on holiday there or doing media work, but the team has little chance of qualifying. If they do somehow scrape into the play-offs (long way to go still), if they come up against a decent team, they'll get slaughtered. Anyone remember the 6-0 in Holland?

Thing is Mickey, there are different degrees of shite. England are heading for qualification, but have played poorly the last few games. They'll not win anything with Sven in charge, but they will qualify for stuff and make it past the first round. They're one of the top 16 in the world easily, but people expect England to win the World Cup every time, so England are harshly judged. If Scotland make the play-offs even, it's time for celebrations. A lot of Scottish people I know still harp on about beating England at Wembley in the Euro 2000 play-offs. This makes them so happy and is apparently proof that Scotland are better than England, but at the end of the day, England beat Scotland on aggregate and qualified for Euro 2000, so what's the big deal?

Scotland have never made it past the first round of anything EVER, not even when you had some decent players! In the recent past, they've drawn with the Faroe Islands (and were lucky not to lose), and lost to such giants like Lithuania and Hungary. If England are shite, I don't know what that makes Scotland.

I do think Sven should be replaced though, but the FA cannot afford it. He lacks something when it comes to the crunch, and because of this, he will never get the best out of the England team.

Brillant Zonker

Don't think anyone was talking about, or laughing at, Scotland though. We're talking about England here. About losing to a team ranked 116th in the world, who won their first competitive game in 4 years at the weekend. v Azerbaijan. Who are ranked below Rwanda and Turkmenistan

I will tell you this. That result last night, was, I think, the worst result in Englands history. For a team with so many good players, to lose to such a poor team - and there is no escaping the fact that they are terrible is worse than losing to USA in the 1950 world cup, worse than losing to a bunch of part time Norwegian whalers in 1981, just simply the worst result ever. And seeing as your comparing England to Scotland it was also worse than drawing 2-2 in the Faroes, losing 6-0 to Holland or losing to Costa Rica at the WC in Italy as well.

You list a few of our losses, Lithuania and Hungary, but all a damn sight better than Northern Ireland (1 place higher than St Lucia in the world rankings!!).

Aye, aye, we're pish, we will never do anything. Still over the last 3 internationals we have thrown away a 2 goal lead in Austria with 10 mins to go to draw 2-2, were 14 mins away from beating Italy (obviously not a decent side though, otherwise we would surely have got humped ) and beaten, quite well actually, a decent Norwegian side last night.

England have been humped 4-1 in Denmark, fluked a win over Wales with a deflection and lost to Northern Ireland.

Who's got the better results out of that series of 3 games? Ain't England I can tell you. The question should really be - if Scotland are shite, what the hell does that make England

Aye, good, on you go to the World Cup, but the question must be, would it really be worth your while taking part? You might get a bit embarressed as you will be playing better sides than Wales and Northern Ireland.
