Right, ive been thinking about this today, & I dont often get involved in arguments so I reckon i'm due

so long as its not personal I dont care.
Firstly the takeover, apparently the share price has finished 27% (£1) up, shame were losing to Wycombe as I post

.
Although as fans, one of the reasons that Ellis is so disliked is a serious lack of ambition, its obviously one of the reasons why somebody would be interested in taking us over as we dont have much debt & are well run. Also another obvious reason is that it is a strategy with a higher chance of success than other clubs, for the simple reason that Ellis is old & ill, no matter whats gone on before theres obviously more chance of him saying yes than, say Steve Gibson @ Boro.
The second point is about the tosh that the midlands dont care about their football........I couldnt disagree more strongly tbh. I feel its a simplistic argument that you make Funkt. Youve produced figures that obviously show Birmingham to be the second biggest city in England, only just from Manchester tbf, but still the second biggest. Every other city in that list has teams that are seen as more fashionable in a nationwide view, bar Leeds in the current climate, although they would still be seen as more fashionable if they hadnt been disastrously mis-managed.
So my point is that all the other teams in the list will attract more 'floating supporters'....who support the team & go to matches whilst living out of the area. We all laugh at the stories of more Man utd coaches coming out of Brum & London & heading north, but the point is valid. The success that Man utd have achieved since the start of the 90's (& indeed in the 60's) has spawned a nationwide army of fans, some who have no link to Manchester other than by supporting United. The more hardcore & local supporters in Manchester support City...that is the general feeling, no matter who gets up in arms with it.
Ok, I'll mention Liverpool, but not before a disclaimer Funkt, that I am in no way having a go at you here, because i know you live in Geordie country but I know you have a link with your old man being a scouser (I think

) so I am in no way accusing you of being a hanger on. Right, now thats done, as much as you might hate it, to a lesser extent your the same as Man Utd. Thanks to the 70's & 80's you spawned an entire army of 'floating fans' across the country, & i've no doubt some of these attend games, along with the regular scousers. I'm 33, I'ved supported Villa all my life, but I know 4 Liverpool fans that are born & bred Brummies, but they love their football & would vehemently argue with what your saying. Everton have had the same in the mid to late 80's.
Villa have had their success, in the early 80's, but then slipped away again bar a couple of league cups, so do not attract the 'glamour chasing' footie fans like the teams I'm talking about. Ellis's lack of ambition has told around here yes, & thats not to the fans credit at all that were on average 5k down on average attendances, but thats happening across the prem this season as reported. Villa still had the highest prem attendance on saturday.
I'm not even talking from a Blues point of view but they would take serious umbrage at the accusations.
The midlands is not a fashionable place, it does not attract fashionable long distance fans...(bar Prince william obviously

) it is an area that is looked down upon not just in footballing terms, but you can tell by reading posts from fans in other parts of the country thats its true what I say.....I read them myself on here ffs !! But I wont just listen to crap that we dont like our football from a long distance away, when nothing could be further from the truth.
