Ronaldinho and Rooney Scoop Awards

Quote:
Barcelona forward Ronaldinho has been named FIFPro's World Player of the Year, with Manchester United's Wayne Rooney winning the young player award.
Chelsea trio John Terry, Frank Lampard and Claude Makelele won places in the World XI line-up, which was voted for by their fellow professionals.

Cristiano Ronaldo won a special young player award and Pele was honoured with the FIFPro legend award.
Seems about right to me to be fair with Ronaldinho. The guys a genius and a joy to watch although Lampard and Terry must of given him a close run due to their high standard and consistency they kept up throughout the season.

Can't think of any other youngster that could've possibly beat Rooney at the minute.

Not sure what Ronaldo got a "Special young player" award for

Trying to find the World XI line up. Will post here once i find it.

FIFPro World XI.

Goalkeeper:
Nelson Dida (Brazil/AC Milan)

Defenders:
Cafu (Brazil/AC Milan)
Alessandro Nesta (Italy/ AC Milan)
John Terry (England/Chelsea)
Paolo Maldini (Italy/AC Milan)

Midfielders:
Ronaldinho (Brazil/Barcelona)
Frank Lampard (England/Chelsea)
Claude Makelele (France/Chelsea)
Zinedine Zidane (France/Real Madrid)

Forwards:
Samuel Eto'o (Cameroon/Barcelona)
Andriy Shevchenko (Ukraine/AC Milan)
Some strange choices in there for me really in Cafu, Maldini and Zidane.

All 3 are excellent players but they haven't been at their best, especially last year.

I reckon Maldini got in alone for his cup final performance.

Surprised Gerrard wasn't voted in ahead of Zidane to be honest.
