Soccer Saturday

I'm sure there have been a load of threads on this before. In fact, I remember replying to one once and commenting on how much I hate that thing Jeff Stelling does every week (I love Jeff mind) where he tries to build suspense over who has scored. "....another goal in the big match but which way has it gone.... have team x managed to get back into it or are they dead and buried.... could it be the end of team y...... who has scored?..... would you like to know?...."

YEEEEES YOU BASTARD!!!!! I'VE GOT 3 GRAND ON TEAM X SO PLEEEEASE STOP TOYING WITH ME!!!!

Maybe deep down that's part of why I love it, and I do love it. There's nowt else on the box I look forward to as much as Soccer Saturday. If I'm in the pub to watch it, I am absolutely incapable of conversation till it's finished. I don't even blink for fear of missing a goal pop up. It's compulsive viewing. All of it. Genius.

Can anyone imagine Saturday without this? George Burley is on the panel tomorrow btw. Intellesting......

Re: Soccer Saturday

I love it myself but miss the first hour quite often now due to football commitments.

I was gutted when Rodney left as it was great viewing.

I always find the build up is the best part of the program as you get some great entertainment there.

George Burley was on the panel on Wednesday night. Didn't comment much but he let everyone know he has a book in the pipeline which will bevery interesting to say the least

Re: Soccer Saturday

One of the best programmes on the box - Jeff & Co are the dugs nutz !!! :drums

Loosing Rodney was definatley a blow but one of the lowest was having to watch George Best when he was Yellow - thought the tv was going on the blink and even tried messing about with the colour until i remembered he had jaundice (or whatever) :

Re: Soccer Saturday

the biggest blow is when Jeff Stelling is off and Rob Mccaffery takes over .

Soccer AM from 11 to 12 is class. The old i'm a pro you're a pro catwalk thing has me laughing every week, dont know why but it does.
