Wayne Rooney

Didn't want to get this caught up in the other thread but what a bloody useless cnut this guy is as a player

Only joking

Nah - i just thought i'd say. This guy just seems to get better and better in an England shirt.

I always thought he was great, but with the performances he puts in for England he is going to become an all time great imo.

That chip he attempted was just absolutely first class and i wish it went in as it would've been one of the great goals.

Think he is being wasted at the minute in an average Man Utd side if im being honest. Be interesting if Man Utd manage to keep him after the great WC i expect this guy to have.

Seen a glimpse of him at the Euro's before he got injured. Englands main player and you must worry as an England fan what would happen if he was to get injured and be unable for selection in the WC.

Re: Wayne Rooney

Like I said we have no replacements of any standard but the first team is ok. Not that anybody probably could replace Rooney

Re: Wayne Rooney

England still have players that can make things happen without Rooney....such as Joe Cole and Wright Phillips. But i agree, Rooney is irreplaceable, hes that damn good!

Too right, hed much better be used in a semi-relegation dogfight picking up knockdowns from the Dunc Or maybe not.

The better quality players around him and he is against the better he gets.

I actually saw Rooneys first Everton appearance back in the day. I didnt know who the cnut was who Id never heard of playing left wing

Even tho hes not a blue I still really like Rooney and would like him to get the most England goals ever which I think hell do. Owen will get there first (most likely) but Rooney will surpass.

Re: Wayne Rooney

Swooper - we have some decent replacements outside of our first 11. The problem is Sven doesn't pick them. Here would be my second 11 (assuming that I agreed with Sven's first 11).

James, Young, Bridge, (Neville and A.Cole will be first 11) Campbell, Woodgate, J. Cole, Wright-Philipps, Carrick, Parker, Defoe and Smith.

That side would still be a world top 10 team in my opinion.

Re: Wayne Rooney

See you omitted Crouch and Carragher from that list Gett1n....shame on you! As far as subs go, I reckon thats a decent side to choose from like. Genuine talent and unpredictability.....

Re: Wayne Rooney

Carragher, Campbell, Wright-Phillips, Joe Cole & Defoe on a good day I'll go with after pondering. Jurys out on Bridge IMO & will Woodgate ever be fit enough to stake a claim as he just isnt available regularly, so he'd be on a wish list maybe, but nowhere near a practical list.
I've always liked Smith, but they need to decide his position & stop messing the kid around.

I'm sorry, I just dont think Crouch is good enough & it wouldnt surprise me at all if he disappears off the radar before Germany &, if he keeps scoring, replaced by Vassell as hes often been Erikssons go-to player.
I do a lot of deliveries in Liverpool AFU & I dont find many Liverpool fans who think he should be in your team never mind Englands

Re: Wayne Rooney

Swoops - aye I know and I am in two minds myself. My opinion though is that it wont help him if everyone gets on his back. If he hasnt got a decent tally and assists by the end of the season then its time to look around. I think to pass judgement now and to condemn him is not going to help LFC one jot.

He may just suprise us all and come into a rich vein of form. Looking at our next 8 fixtures - if he cant score against them then he is fookd. Pompey, Man City, Maccams, Wigan, Boro etc etc - will be looking for the goals to come!
