Re: Transfer Talk !

Never heard of him Jesus, but going back to Crowies valid point it never ceases to amaze me how many top class players are happy to sit on their arses on the bench at Chelsea and other top clubs - Wright Phillips being the one that sticks in the throat the most, obviously. Surely if you've spent your life pursuing a dream of playing professional football then thats what you want to do - PLAY !!!!! Then again i suppose i'd sit on my arse for £40k a week..............

Completely agree with you here. Its not even that he has played and done shite is it, he really hasn't been given a fair crack at it yet there has he?

I still believe he shouldve spent another season or two at City to really improve then make his big move. He could find this costing him a place at the WC approaching too.

Sven cant afford to leave him behind. We have lots of decent central midfield players but a shortage of wee and nippy wide men. Besides Cole and SWP, who else is there. Not Trevor Sinclair, nooo noooo please nooooooooooooooooo

Re: Transfer Talk !

What a bastard eh, he used us for awhile, scored a few goals and fucks off. He said he was staying on Wednesday. I suppose its the risk you take when your giving out 1-3 month contracts.

Hodgson says in the paper today

"We might miss his goals, but we wont miss some of his performances, which were erratic to say the least"

"Im not going to miss his enthusiasm or input into the football club because it did not exist"

Pass them grapes

Re: Transfer Talk !

class Gaz

But yeah as you say Gaz, its a risk you take. Hardly shows faith in the player when you offer a short term or a pay as you play contract. A great deal of loyalty then cannot be expected from him.... Shame though because I was planning on seeing him next weekend...

Re: Transfer Talk !

Its just because we cant afford to be giving out 6 month/1-2 year contracts left right n centre, its happened too many times where we have donkeys on the wage bill and we cant afford to get anyone in till someone leaves, must be frustrating for Hodgy, see if he brings anyone in soon

Re: Transfer Talk !

oh aye I know you have been lumbered with some shite in the past. i think short term contracts are the way forward for the bulk of players. make them earn their keep or face the boot. fairs fair IMO.

big sam started the trend really. he offered a low basic wage with incentives for scoring/appearing etc. being able to double your weekly wage by scoring should be a massive incentive.

Re: Transfer Talk !

Steve McLaren has accepted a transfer request from Mark Schwarzer today....

Evra signs for Man U, subject to a medical.

Maniche
signs for Chelsea on loan (from a Russian club, anything dodgy here? Hmmm - wonder how much they are paying them for the loan deal? Abramovich laundering his cash eh?)

Henry dismisses talk of a move away from Arsenal in tomorrow's papers

Bolton may let Sideshow Bob (Ivan Campo) move in the transfer window - shame IMO because I like the guy...

Sheff U bid £2mil for Cameron Jerome - but have a bid turned down!

how many times? DEFENDERS NOT FUCKING STRIKERS............ Slightly off topic, but watched the goals from last years FA Cup semi final again today - Boumsong's comedy slip for RVN's goal (?) was class. get rid of the cnut and bring some defenders in... you know, those failed strikers that play at the back... thats right, well done d.e.f.e.n.d.e.r - ecoute et repete

Re: Transfer Talk !

Sky Sports say an anouncement on Dean Ashtons future will be given shortly, he's been left out of todays cup clash with West Ham. Wigan were chasing him.
