Transfer Talk !
Manchester City have signed Espanyol's Albert Riera on loan until the end of the season, say the La Liga club.
City will not confirm a deal is done - insisting talks are ongoing - but Espanyol say the left-sided 23-year-old has joined on loan.
3 January 2006
Yaniv Katan [Maccabi Haifa - West Ham] £100,000
Clyde Wijnhard [Darlington - Macclesfield] Free
Dickson Etuhu [Preston North End - Norwich] £450,000
Anyone else heard anything ?

Re: Transfer Talk !
When will newcastle fans learn - YOU NEED SOME DEFENDERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The bloody schoolboy errors that have cost you goals over the last few weeks (bramble and babayaro against spurs) need to be sorted.
Anelka is just the sort of player you dont want. Tempremental and hasnt done anything of note at his last 3 clubs has he. Waste of space.

Re: Transfer Talk !
That Clyde Wijnhard moves around a bit doesnt he ??
Havent read anything about this yet but Matty Fryatt of Walsall didnt play yesterday & hes their most saleable asset by far so wouldnt be suprised at something there.
Am I alone in think if Freddy Shepherd gives Souness money for Anelka they deserve everything coming to them

Re: Transfer Talk !
AFU - if you look at Newcastles defensive record this season it really isnt too bad...some bad mistakes yes but people over exaggerate in my opinion!
They dont seem to be creating chances or scoring many goals - thats what they need to improve on mainly especially with Michael Owen out injured!
I think Anelka would be a good signing....he scores goals where ever he goes...and goals win matches as u know!

Re: Transfer Talk !
Hodgson sort of sacked Winjhard (loan, till he fucks off for good.) cos his was takin the piss, always late for training, bad attitude etc. Anyway hes gone and scored 10 at Macclesfield. Bastard. But we have a new hero, Ndumbu Ngsungu, rolls of the tongue.

Re: Transfer Talk !
Anelka scores goals Jesus, we had him for 2 and a half years but I tell you he will do nothing else.
Id be gutted if I was you. Theres a reason he has moved all over from place to place. He is a liability to the team and we nearly got relegated with him scoring about 20 goals.

Re: Transfer Talk !
Jesus Thing is, Newcastle always do things the wrong way around. Build a solid defensive formation then worry about attacking later. Make yourselves hard to beat first and then concentrate on attacking. Rumours today that Glenn Roeder will be in charge for the weekend's game and that Souey is on his way out.....

Re: Transfer Talk !
Maniche has signed on loan for Chelsea for rest of the season. Good signing, he looked a decent player in Porto's CL games and for Portugal in Euro 2004.
WBA hoping to take Ehiogu from Boro for a nominal fee.
Laurent Robert has left Pompey to go and play at the real Stadium of Light (Benfica) for rest of the season, Pompey meanwhile have brought in Polish Nigerian Olisadebe on loan for rest of the season.
Birmingham look to be favourites to get Chris Sutton for the last 6 months of the season. His contract expires in the summer, negotiations over a new one have stalled at Celtic and it looks like he will be on his way. Sorry to see him go but looking at it this way, he is 32, is becoming more prone to injuries, taking longer to recover and will be £30k a week of the wage bill.
He's been a superb servant for Celtic, great attitude, gives his all in every game but its been proved this season that him and Hartson don't play well together, and the whole team suffers when they are the front two. In the end, Sutton can't match Hartsons goal scoring record so if one of the two has to go, I would be happier if its Sutton.
A hero from the opening minutes of his Old Firm debut when he scored the first as we pumped the Forces of Darkness 6-2 in MON's first derby game.

Re: Transfer Talk !
Midfielder Gavin Williams has signed a permanent contract with Ipswich after joining the Championship club on loan from West Ham in November.
The 25-year-old Wales international has agreed a three-and-a-half-year deal, with West Ham receiving a £300,000 fee.
He told the club website: "Ipswich are heading in the right direction. "If the gaffer Joe Royle can bring in a couple of new players to strengthen the squad I don't see why we cannot start moving quickly up the league."
