Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has admitted he is concerned for Sol Campbell's wellbeing - and said he does not know when he will next see the player.

Campbell left Highbury before the end of Wednesday's 3-2 defeat to West Ham after he was substituted at half-time.

Now Wenger has said: "At the moment I am worried about Sol because he is down. The reason? Only he can answer."

Team-mate Robert Pires said earlier on Friday that 31-year-old Campbell had a "big worry" in his private life.

Anyone heard any rumours or whatever about what exactly is going on here as it does seem a strange one doesn't it.

Then again, i think we look to these sort of guys as untouchables when in theory they are just the same as any one of us with everyday problems?

I once met Sol Campbell !!

He was still with Spurs and Spurs had a friendly with Hearts. My cousin got married in the same hotel and me, my brother and dad decided that the 'keggage' wasn't flowing enough so we decided to go through to one of the other bars in the hotel.

My dad 'being a football fan' announced 'doesn't that lok like that guy that plas for spurs' me and my bro though 'feck off auld man' what do you know but as it turned out it was Sol Campbell.

We spoke to him at the ba and he was 110% genuine - posed for photo's and autographs with us no prob - but unless the media stroled in thn I don't think anybody else would have noiced.

One thing I did notice was he ordered a fresh apple juice at he bar and when they said they only had appletize then he ot a bit sloppy but then did order a pint of the stuff - I siad that Strongbow was the next best hing and he did have a laugh but WOW what a packet he then produced !!!!!!!!!!!!

This would have chocked ten store horses !! he was fecking loaded !!!!!!

£100 fecking notes - honest - eitehr that or he had about a thousand £1 notes wrapped in 2 £100 notes. ................

Anyhow he didn't want a drink and he got bored of us very quicky and opted for siting in he bar and looking at his watch and then slim line mobile phone for about an hour............

The Campbell gay rumours have been on the go for years to be honest. Popbitch rumour mill email a couple of weeks ago said that there were rumours flying about about an England international with HIV which had since been found out to be crap, however the stories of the same players love life were about to hit the tabloids.

Personally I hope there's bollocks all in the NOTW or whatever on Sunday and that Campbell gets himself sorted out with whatever is troubling him.
