Re: Eurovision Statistics

What I desperately need is the voting statistics broken down into age groups and male/female too I suppose. I want to know who votes basically. Anyone have anything?

Re: Eurovision Statistics

I think i'm onto something here, Last yr the semi final winner won the final contest and the 2005 semi final winner finished 4th in the final.

I'm gonna check back from when the semi's started and see how the other winners faired as the semi winner could be good for a place bet in the final.

Re: Eurovision Statistics

unlucky as the 2004 semi winner was serbia and they finished 5th in the final, still were on the right lines and its worth thinking about as the semi winner basically gets two airings.

Any bookies offering a place bet upto 5th position?

2004 was also the first yr the semi was introduced so i cannot go back further than that.

Re: Eurovision Statistics

One problem with that slick is that who wins the semi is not made public - so unless you can find it out from someone with inside knowledge (and it was leaked last year, more unlikely this year as a result but I've no doubt those in the know will make their money) it's no clearer.

No sure about a 5 place market but Betfair has top 4 and top 10 markets up.

Re: Eurovision Statistics

top 3 seems to be the most bookies are offering but paddy power are offering a 4th place.

This is interesting as Betfair are offering a market for a top 10 place with most of the semi finalists out at large odds.
If were quick after the semi's tomorrow we could grab a bargain.

I forgot about that Beanie, bollox i'm back to square one, but its well worth keeping our ears open then as like u say the result can easily be leaked out.

Re: Eurovision Statistics

Slick going by last year's results, I would say a less strong semi finalist should fair better than a slightly stronger guaranteed finalist.

Stands to reason that people who voted for it in the semi finals will have some kind of bond with that song when it's in the final.

Re: Eurovision Statistics

Certainly true DD...stats from previous years back that up. Not only have people already voted for it, but it also gets 2 plays compared to the 1 of the finalists.
