Re: A return to Spread Betting

When I said 10 points I meant 3 points and I have taken the 38 on offer at Sporting Index.

I assume you're selling those runs?

I was tempted, as he's poor vs. Aus, and he's only got into double figures (with a 31) in 5 innings batting 4th innings. However, there's no doubt that the pitch (as expected) is flattening out, and if he gets through the new ball the potential downside is huge, with 2 days to go.

Good luck, and most likely it will win, but I won't be joining you.

I think the potential upside at buying is huge too as time is on his side and he looked in little trouble in the few overs he faced this morning. He is due a big score and without the pressure of having to force the pace can settle and quietly accumalte.

Re: A return to Spread Betting

Yeah, couldn't buy myself though given his appalling record vs. Oz and in 4th innings. Good luck.

Re: A return to Spread Betting

Too Late now Dave - By admitting the Huge potential downside risk to selling Bells runs you've admitted you're real feelings about Bell

Bell now has an average of 37 in this series and as was once said in Blackadder opinion is divided on whether this is an appaling record or not

Anyway Bell out for 87 so 78 points profit after commision. I did get Bells runs for 46 as I placed an offer on spreadfair early in the day and waited for it to be matched. I don't normally proof at the price I get and usually post the best price on offer which was 48 on spreadfair or 49 spreadex. I'll therefore post as 76 points profit so Bank now 266 points.

Well, you won't beat the Aussies if your batsmen are all averaging 37. The Aussies average 50, 55, 60 etc. 37 is more like Grame Hick and Mark Ramprakash. Adelaide (whole match) and Perth (2nd inngs) have been flat as can be, so 37 is very poor IMO for a number 3 batsman.

Couldn't make it up could you.

For the record in 2005 ashes series Englands number 3 Averaged 32. The other top line batsman averaged 39,40,43,52 and 17. Graeme Hicks test average was 32 and Mark Ramprakashs' was 27.

Anyway one for today is a sell of the bookings in the West Ham v ManU at 40 on Sporting Index for 3 points. Phil Dowd has one of the lowest card averages in the premiership and ManU are high in the fair play league. West Ham are near the bottom of this league but this is the case with most struggling teams. Hopefully a new manager will kerb some of this and we will see a clean entertaining game.

Sorry Colbro, you know enough about cricket to realise that English pitches are far more bowler friendly than those in Australia. 37 is not good enough on Australian pitches @ number 3. I'm not saying we have any better options right now, because we probably don't, but that doesn't suddenly make Bell into a world class player.
