Re: Sipu's NBA
I like the Bucks pick Sipu...PHO got BLOWN out last night and look to be having some serious problems...not to mention I just heard Amare won't play tonight either.

Re: Sipu's NBA
Hey Sipu
On the surface I really like Detroit, but a few major handicappers over here in the US are touting Philly. A few are also touting Indy as well. Let me do a bit of research into these and I'll post the info they've released ASAP.
One guy who is now on a 83% run (he had NJ over PHO and the Bucks over PHO as his last 2 picks). His pick for today is Boston. Can he go 3 for 3?
I'll post more soon

Re: Sipu's NBA
Here's some info on Detroit v. Philly
Philly is on verge of playoff elimination, but they've been playing like a team with nothing on the line. You'd think the Pistons would be laying more than 4 1/2 points against the unfocused Sixers.
Oddsmakers haven’t taken Philly’s questionable effort into consideration with uncharacteristically low spread for a Pistons game. Instead, the line is based on how the books view, ironically enough, Detroit’s motivation for the game. The result of the Pistons’ game against the Dallas on Tuesday night may be the deciding factor on how the Pistons will approach their game on Wednesday. The game has major implications as to who will finish the regular season with the league’s best record.
“If Detroit loses to Dallas (on Tuesday) and San Antonio also wins, the Pistons are going to realize they’re within half a game of losing their hold on the league’s best record to both teams,” says Malinsky. “They know from last season how important the league’s best record is (to get home court advantage throughout the playoffs) and if they lose, they’ll have to step it up.
“If they win, they’ll be two and a half games clear and then you may see a bit of a letdown.”

Re: Sipu's NBA
Here's some info on Indiana Pacers @ Atlanta from a handicapper on a good run:
I'm laying the points with Indiana. The Pacers are on a 17-8-1 ATS run. Jermaine O'Neal is back, too. Stephen Jackson, Peja Stojakovic, Jamaal Tinsley and Jermaine O'Neal started together for the first time this season Sunday, and they all played major roles in Indiana's 92-79 win over Philadelphia. Jackson scored 23 points, Stojakovic added 18, Tinsley finished with a season-high 14 assists and O'Neal added 11 points and nine rebounds. Indiana is off a tough loss at Miami, as the Pacers fell apart defensively in the second half of their 96-91 loss (spread win) at the Heat on Monday. They take on a tired Atlanta team, as this is the 4th game in 5 nights for the Hawks (at Charlotte Tuesday). The Hawks looked out of gas last night in a 125-117 loss. Atlanta is riding a 13-25 Su/17-21 ATS run as Joe Johnson and Al Harrington provide the offense. Atlanta had a 23-10 offensive rebounding edge Sunday, yet still lost 108-101 at Orlando. They allowed a whopping 59.7% shooting! That's a big problem, as no one is playing 'D'. The Hawks are only 14-20 SU, 15-19 ATS at home. Incredibly, Atlanta is 3-0 SU/ATS against Indiana this season! But the Pacers exact some revenge on Wednesday. I'm laying the points with the Pacers.

Re: Sipu's NBA
Just to clarify the difference between european and US gambling expressions. You're backing Indiana to cover the handicap/spread here?

Re: Sipu's NBA
Yeah daikoku...very confusing. I had this discussion with someone the other day in a footy forum. They said they were gonna lay so and so, and I was like how do you lay an underdog? He clarified the difference for me. Over here in the US "laying" means to back a favorite.
For Example, we use:
Lay the Points - a bet on a favorite in a point spread event
Lay the Price - a bet on a favorite in a money line event

Cheers for the reply sdsponger, I saw you mention it in another thread and thought I'd better ask. Good luck with the pick.

Re: Sipu's NBA
cheers for the info sponger. aye the different expressions can be confusing sometimes... "laying" in european terms means betting that the opposing team wont win the game, e.g. 'laying PSV against Ajax" means backing Ajax to at least draw the game. it is more or less the same as "fading" or "fade" in American terms i think.
Cleveland first half bet lost narrowly.... now seeing Cleveland romping to a easy win in 2nd half
