Re: www.help2bet.net

It's linked in a few places Beanie, but I should probably put more effort into advertising. That's the problem I suppose when you're running two sites (I also have http://www.aodds.com), and do it all yourself. As well as this, I have the betting to deal with, and everything else that goes on in my life, of which there are quite a few things

People seem to find their way to my site though, number of hits is at its highest ever level at the moment, with several hundred per day.

It could do better, but then I'm not really out to make a fortune from it particularly

Re: www.help2bet.net

Here are some bets for the football today. Nothing too daring, but should win hopefully.

Recommended bets:

5pts Liverpool / Nottingham Forest
@ 2.15 Paddy Power
2.11 Centrebet
2.10 Blue Square, Sportingbet, Sporting Odds, Stan James

5pts Hearts @ 1.73 Blue Square, Coral, Ladbrokes, Premierbet, Skybet, William Hill

1pt Liverpool / Nottingham Forest / Hearts
@ 3.63 Blue Square
3.62 Centrebet
3.59 Skybet

As usual, the best 3 prices at the time of writing are quoted (unless otherwise stated). Links to all of these bookmakers can be found at the www.help2bet.net homepage. Any further questions or comments you may have regarding these bets can be e-mailed to support@help2bet.net . We will try our best to answer any queries before kick-off. For any new members, the staking plan uses a scale of 0-20 points, with 20 being a (rarely advised) maximum bet. We recommend a starting bank of around 200 points.

Liverpool v Sunderland (Premiership)
Liverpool actually looked quite good against Middlesbrough last week, but missed several chances to score and had to settle for a draw. Their early season competitive games in the Champions League should mean that they are slightly sharper than most of their opponents in the early league fixtures. Sunderland meanwhile looked poor at home to Charlton last week, losing despite their opponents being down to ten men. Sunderland have filled their team with mediocre players, and if Liverpool have any ambitions to do well this season, they simply have to win games like this. Despite the short odds, they should win easily, which makes them a fair bet.

Nottingham Forest v Scunthorpe (League One)
Nottingham Forest are under pressure after successive away defeats, but there is no need for them to panic yet. The performances were quite good in those two defeats, and with a bit of luck they could have got better results. Nottingham Forest played well against Huddersfield in their opening home game this season, and simply have to be backed against Scunthorpe, who look set to struggle all season. Scunthorpe have not really improved their team since last season, and have lost one or two key players as well. These teams will most likely finish at opposite ends of the league this season, so the odds on a home win here are pretty good.

Hearts v Aberdeen (Scottish Premier League)
Hearts have made a stunning start to the season, and have every chance of continuing their winning run here. Aberdeen will provide possibly their toughest test so far, but Hearts have beaten everyone easily so far. Even before Hearts signed several very good players this season, their home record against Aberdeen in recent years has been superb. Aberdeen have been pretty average so far this season, and are simply not as good a team as Hearts. Home advantage should see Hearts win this.

Summary: Several other bets were considered for today, but ruled out for various reasons: Newcastle (injuries), Andrew Johnson to score (injury doubt), Reading (odds too low), Rushden-Chester Under 2.5 goals (too early in the season to be sure of scoring patterns), Stenhousemuir (Cramb suspended), Hibernian (Caldwell injured) and Berwick (Queen’s Park showing good form). All of these bets could well still win this week, but the bets taken seemed better on reflection. Liverpool are the most obvious selection, but the other two teams also look much stronger than their opponents. Any bets for Sunday will be sent in good time.

Best of luck with any bets you decide to place,

Re: www.help2bet.net

Here are some football bets for tonight, will probably be back later with some cricket ones

Recommended bets:

5pts Norwich / Hearts @ 2.06 Stan James
1.98 Betinternet, Victor Chandler

5pts Crewe @ 2.25 Betdirect, Skybet, Sportingbet, Sporting Odds, Totesport, Stan James

5pts Stoke @ 2.10 Interwetten, Paddy Power, Totesport

As usual, the best 3 prices at the time of writing are quoted (unless otherwise stated). Links to all of these bookmakers can be found at the www.help2bet.net homepage. Any further questions or comments you may have regarding these bets can be e-mailed to support@help2bet.net . We will try our best to answer any queries before kick-off. For any new members, the staking plan uses a scale of 0-20 points, with 20 being a (rarely advised) maximum bet. We recommend a starting bank of around 200 points.

Summary: Several other bets were considered, but with doubts over team news for the Carling Cup matches, it is hard to take a lot of bets before the actual team line-ups are known. Norwich, Crewe and Stoke have pledged to field strong teams, while Hearts should win even if they do rest a few players.

There will be an email by 9pm (UK Time) today at the very latest with any cricket bets for tomorrow.

Best of luck with any bets you decide to place,

Re: www.help2bet.net

Cricket bet for tomorrow. Hopefully a team I bet on will win the toss for once

Recommended bets:

12pts Essex @ 1.44 Blue Square, Coral, Ladbrokes, Paddy Power, Skybet, Stan James, Victor Chandler, William Hill

Essex v Somerset (Cricket: County Championship Division One)
The fact that Caddick is not going to play in this game for Somerset immediately makes it very hard for them to win. Their bowling is extremely weak without him as he has been easily their best bowler this season. Essex have Nel to come into the team, after his debut was delayed after he got injured in practice last week. Nel and Kaneria are two top bowlers, which could make the difference for Essex in this game. Their batting is also very strong, and it is very hard to see Somerset winning this game, so Essex are a very confident bet here.

Summary: This match starts at approximately 11am (UK time) on Wednesday, so bets must be placed before then, although most bookmakers do suspend betting up to an hour before this time. This is a four day match, so the bet will be settled on Saturday.

Any bets for the football on Wednesday will be sent by 3pm (UK time) tomorrow.

Best of luck with any bets you decide to place,

Very poor midweek. Essex bet settled today, but weather has made it look a certain draw (in which case bet will be void).

Re: www.help2bet.net

Here are the football bets for today. Hopefully an improvement on Tuesday

Recommended bets:

5pts Andrew Johnson to score any time – Crystal Palace v Stoke and Hearts to win @ 2.89 Bet365

6pts Southampton / Stenhousemuir
@ 2.26 Interwetten
2.02 Blue Square, Coral

As usual, the best 3 prices at the time of writing are quoted (unless otherwise stated). Links to all of these bookmakers can be found at the www.help2bet.net homepage. Any further questions or comments you may have regarding these bets can be e-mailed to support@help2bet.net . We will try our best to answer any queries before kick-off. For any new members, the staking plan uses a scale of 0-20 points, with 20 being a (rarely advised) maximum bet. We recommend a starting bank of around 200 points.

Crystal Palace v Stoke (The Championship)
Johnson is priced at 2.00 by Bet365 to score at any point during this game. Given that he takes all of the penalties, and has a very good scoring record over the past two seasons (including three goals the last time Crystal Palace played Stoke at home), this bet looks good. Stoke are likely to finish in the bottom half of the league, so in a game like this the chances of Johnson scoring seem higher than the 50% implied by the odds. Johnson has scored 61 goals in 108 league starts for Crystal Palace, with several of those games in the Premier League.

Southampton v Crewe (The Championship)
Southampton have made a solid start to the season, without really hitting top gear yet. Crewe are unbeaten in the league, but were thrashed in midweek by Lincoln in the Carling Cup. Crewe have not been performing great in their league games, which have mostly been drawn. Southampton have a strong starting eleven, and have most of their players fit here. If Southampton play anything like their best, they should win. The odds are a little higher than expected, so this is a good bet.

Hearts v Motherwell (Scottish Premier League)
Motherwell have conceded 9 goals in their last 2 league games, and 13 in 4 games overall this season. Hearts meanwhile have scored 13 and conceded 2, winning all of the games. Statistics do not always tell the whole story, but on this occasion they explain why Hearts really should win this game. Motherwell are not a bad team, but are leaking goals at an alarming rate at the moment. Hearts have signed several good players, who seem to have formed a good team very quickly. They are probably not much below the level of Rangers and Celtic at the moment, so they are a good bet here as those teams would be much lower odds for a home game against Motherwell at the moment.

Stenhousemuir v East Stirling (Scottish Division Three)
This match pits probably the best team in the league against probably the worst. Stenhousemuir are a superb attacking team at this level, and should have no problems scoring in this match. Unless East Stirling raise their game massively, they will lose. The odds are low, but it still looks a fair bet to take.

Summary: The midweek football bets did not quite work out as planned for various reasons, such as Norwich promising to field their strongest team and then not doing so, but hopefully these ones should do better.

The cricket bet on Essex looks likely to be drawn due to bad weather, which is unfortunate as Essex were on top. That one is settled today. Any bets for Sunday will be sent in good time as usual.

Best of luck with any bets you decide to place,

Re: www.help2bet.net

Absolute stunned about Essex. Coming into today, they had made 400/6 declared, and Somerset were 112/2. There was no way in a million years that Somerset could win from that position. Yet Essex decided to allow Somerset to declare and then they forfeited their own second innings to allow Somerset to chase 289 to win on a good pitch, with a whole day to get it. This was absolute madness, as Essex only had 2 decent bowlers available, and it has cost them 4 points for the draw, and a likely 3 bowling points. This could ultimately end up costing them promotion as it is very close. It's all very well to be positive and chase the win, but this was suicidal in the extreme

On the other hand, both of my football bets won pretty easily, but it's still a disappointing day due to the Essex result. It's almost like they lost on purpose.

Re: www.help2bet.net

Bet for tomorrow. I realise I am going against popular opinion and may end up looking silly, but I believe there is value in this

Recommended bets:

2pts Lay Manchester United @ 1.67** Betdaq (liability 2pts)
1.66* Betfair (liability 2pts)

** = this is backing Newcastle not to lose. Assuming 3% commission, the odds you are getting on Newcastle not to lose are 2.45.

* = this is backing Newcastle not to lose. Assuming 5% commission, the odds you are getting on Newcastle not to lose are 2.44.

Newcastle United v Manchester United (English Premier League)
A lot of people are suggesting that Manchester United are a good bet to win this game, but the weight on money has made their odds drop just too far. Newcastle could be close to having all of their best players available for this game, and can certainly give Manchester United a good game. Backing Newcastle to win at very high odds of 7.60 would not be the worst bet in the world. Manchester United have started the season quite well, but have not faced any strong opposition yet. Newcastle have been poor at times, such as against Bolton and West Ham, but the atmosphere for this game should spur them on to perform better. They may well end up losing anyway, but the odds on them not to lose represent good value here, despite their poor form and recent defeats against Manchester United.

Summary: The Essex cricket bet somehow lost due to an absolutely ridiculous innings forfeit, setting up a pretty easy target for Somerset. The bad weather during the game led to this, but the decision Essex took seems to lack all logic, and was suicidal in the extreme. Unfortunately this is the risk you take with cricket betting when the games are weather affected.

Fortunately both of the football bets on Saturday won to more than cover this loss. This bet for Sunday is speculative, but it seems that Manchester United are having their chances slightly over-rated due to the weight of money on them.

Best of luck with any bets you decide to place,

Unlucky with the Essex one...although people from Essex aren't the brightest bunch are they.

Good consistent performance in profit nevertheless

Re: www.help2bet.net

I can take losing bets, but when a team forfeits an innings to virtually lose on purpose, when they didn't need to at all, it's hard to take. Especially with it being a large bet for me as well

That's betting though I suppose, strange things can happen. Over this short time period, it makes the difference between a 7% profit and a 16% profit. Nothing much I can do now, but still it is the most annoyed I have ever been about a losing bet.

I just hope Newcastle don't get thrashed tomorrow now

Oh well, Boumsong missing the ball and Newcastle losing a few players to injury didn't help, but it was always a risky bet.

Re: www.help2bet.net

A bet on the cricket for tomorrow.

Recommended bets:

5pts Northamptonshire @ 1.86 Canbet
1.83 Betdirect.net, Bet365, Blue Square, Totesport

As usual, the best 3 prices at the time of writing are quoted (unless otherwise stated). Links to all of these bookmakers can be found at the www.help2bet.net homepage. For any new members, the staking plan uses a scale of 0-20 points, with 20 being a (rarely advised) maximum bet. We recommend a starting bank of around 200 points.

Somerset v Northamptonshire (Cricket: County Championship Division Two)
The fact that again Caddick is not going to play in this game for Somerset makes it very hard for them to win. Their bowling is extremely weak without him as he has been easily their best bowler this season. They managed to beat Essex lately, but only because of an extremely generous declaration from Essex in a game badly affected by rain. Northamptonshire have been on a good run of form, and still have an outside chance of promotion if they can win this game. They look to have a better chance of winning than Somerset, so are a decent bet.

Summary: This match starts at approximately 10:30am (UK time) on Wednesday, so bets must be placed before then, although most bookmakers do suspend betting up to an hour before this time. This is a four day match, so the bet will be settled by Saturday.

There will be no midweek football bets.

Best of luck with any bets you decide to place,
